Hi All, Newbie Former Lurker Here, Interested In Advice

Well the point would be to just stop caring about it I guess. My brother was norwood 4 at 23, he just shaved it, never gave a sh*t, he's really fat and eats terribly whereas I love going to the gym and eat very healthy, he's got a live-in GF and is a generally happy person, people say I look better and younger than him but I'm alone and just miserable.

Well encouraging him to work out is one thing, I do that all the time.

But IMO you have much more control over your fitness level and your food intake more than your hair. It's really out of our hands to some extant, at least with where the technology and science is at.

I've been lurking here for about a week, and I notice how much more depressed it's making me. I've been neurotic about my hair since I realized it was going when I was 23. That's 5 years of this sh*t. I am sick of it. I talked to a surgical consultant today who really wants me to try topical finastiride. I am leaning more towards shaving it off, rather than spending thousands more on finastiride and then 10's of thousands on a hair transplant. I'll no longer be the pretty boy I was, but at least I'll be free from the fear, anxiousness, and neuroticism. At least it will no longer rule my life. Honestly I f*****g resent my hair at this point. I resent my father for giving this to me, but I resent my hair even more for making me feel its absence. Better to have been born bald. If I shave it, at least it won't rule my life. Even though when I do it up with 3 different products it looks pretty good I still don't go out much because I'm so damn depressed all the time, and my hair loss definitely contributes to that. I really want to shave it off and be done with it. It's surprising that posting here has done this to me, but tbh hanging out on this forum has made me never want to think of hair or hair loss again. Gonna sleep on it and see how I feel in the morning.

Understand how you feel. I would try finasteride and evaluate after 6-8 months. You may get regrowth and feel fine about your hair which is the best outcome. Unlikely you get sides and they aren't permanent if you do.

If you shave it, could look fine also. If it doesn't, it'll grow back. would try keeping it first though and finasteride is the only way to do that.

I slept on it, still can't decide. Not as angry as I was yesterday so I am leaning towards the propecia.

Your arms are so hairy, perhaps due to high 5 alpha-reductase activity. You can be a relly good responder to DHT-inhibitors.

Diffuse density is much easier to bring back than a total bald/dead scalp area. Took another look at the pictures. Your hairline isn't bad,
but your density is.

It takes time for medication to work.

For maximum benefits, Finasteride can take up to two years.

But I definitely think you can get your density back with both Minoxidil and Finasteride.

In the mean time, if you want to shave your head, try it. Personally I don't think it will look good with your facial features,
but with hair, you will always have a choice.

Acceptance is good though. If you like a shaved head, really, who the f*** am I? I'm a male. So, my opinion
really doesn't matter.

Hard medicine to swallow, but there are worse fates in life.

You should look in the success section. I agree, this part of the website is sometimes depressing as f***.

I don't think you would look ugly with a shaved head. And really, it's only eight pictures. (Different lighting, etc).

Baldness is depressing.

Sometimes I look at the Success Stories here, and it helps me out.

For me, decades of NOT using Finasteride was my biggest mistake. Now I'm in my forties, and it's TOO LATE to
get all my hair back.

For you, it's not.

LOL even if I had not lost a single hair on my head my life till now would be mostly sorrow and regret. At the ripe old age of 28 I've gone through a lot of sh*t, alopecia is making it worse but I'd probably be depressed in any event.

Don't give up dude.

Maybe unsubscribe to chapos patreon and start putting that towards an hair transplant, they're making enough money without you anyways
