23, not sure what's happening or what to do :(

Listen to alex85. All of that herbal crap you're buying is a waste of time and money. If you want to keep your hair, get on finasteride.

Update time. 10 months finasteride, 6 months minoxidil. No drastic changes since the last time I posted. I've been going through quite a shed for the past month or so, but the shedding has recently stopped. I haven't noticed a major cosmetic difference due to the shedding between then and now, probably...

Hey y'all. Time for another monthly update - 8.5 months finasteride, 4.5 months minoxidil. No significant regrowth this past month, but about a week ago I noticed I've started shedding again. I think for most of the past month my hair was in the resting phase, and it's recently just gone into a second...

My Story - A College Freshman

Sounds like you're shedding miniaturized hairs, which likely means they'll grow back thicker and stronger. Stick it out and power through it mate, it sounds like good things are coming your way.

22 y/o guy, am I too far gone?

Nope. Throw in minoxidil, stay diligent with the treatments, and be patient. You could potentially get a full recovery. Could take 4 months to see results, could take 14 months. Be patient. Ultimately you won't know unless you try.

Liquid. I use about 1.5-2.0 mL per application to get full coverage and to account for the minoxidil that gets lost to my hand and hair.

    Damage assessment

There's no way to tell unless you try. Keep on with finasteride (or jump on dutasteride like you mentioned) and throw in minoxidil. finasteride doesn't typically cause regrowth, usually it just stops balding. minoxidil will regrow. I didn't shed from finasteride at all, it just stopped my hair loss. I was on finasteride for 4 months...

    2tite2014's Story

Hi everyone. I've been lurking and posting around here off and on ever since I started treating my hair loss. As of this post I've been on finasteride for 6.5 months and minoxidil for 2.5 months. I also use 1% keto 2-3 times a week. I rode out finasteride for a while before starting minoxidil...

male pattern baldness at age of 17 :(((((((

We're telling you to get finasteride because it is the ONLY thing out there that is proven to actually stop hair loss. Everything else is bunk. finasteride doesn't cause cancer, and its side effects are rare and mild. Don't waste your time trying every lotion and potion out there. finasteride is the ONLY thing that...

male pattern baldness at age of 17 :(((((((

S5 cream doesn't have much evidence supporting its efficacy. The side effects of finasteride are rare, and the stories you read online are from a very vocal minority. There isn't any scientific evidence that the sides are permanent, all we have are anecdotes from anonymous strangers on the...

male pattern baldness at age of 17 :(((((((

Without finasteride you will go bald. Side effects are rare, and if you were to get them, they are mild and go away if you stop taking the drug. Though taking it at 17 might be a tad iffy, but if male pattern baldness is heavily impacting your life it's probably worth getting on it in my opinion.
