I'm 18 years old but in December I'll be 19

If I catch the recession early and I am diagnosed with male pattern baldness and go on finasteride, will it halt the hair loss and potentially regrow some lost hairs 100% guaranteed? Will finasteride work on small miniaturized hairs to regrow them into thick terminal hairs over time, even if those hairs are tiny but existing?

People say that about every kind of hair loss treatment out there. I hope its not true and its scary, but if you're serious a about trying to maintain you hair you have to take risks - - - Updated - - - I just started finasteride too so we are in the same boat. Hopefully we are great responders

No I would say that you really haven't lost much ground, if it is male pattern baldness you have the potential to catch it at a really early state. You can do many things to use as a preventative measure, finasteride and minoxidil being two of the big ones. You could hop on finasteride if you want, its the best...

I agree with taylorbeam12, it looks like it could be developing into a mature hairline. It all just depends on how much further the corners and front recede or thin. Finasteride would be your best bet if you want to keep and potential regrow that hairline to a more full state
