Im not worried about dying. I know finasteride is safe.
I want to...
1. Not do anything that will hinder my beard growth
and
2. Take the lowest recommended dosage because why take more if less will also do the job.
I've been on 2.5 mg Oral Min EVERY day for 4 months now and I think I will hop on finasteride in a few months but I dont want to be taking both of these drugs every day if I dont have to so I was thinking of doing a MWF schedule for both.
Any suggestions? Shared experiences?
I'm currently on oral minoxidil (2.5 mg once daily) and have been since September 1st. So, coming up on 4 months. No negative side effects at all as far as I can tell. And I've seen IMO much less hair shed which I attribute to the minoxidil. I even think I've seen some vellus hairs on my face...

The dermatologist and my primary doctor discussed the matter and I'll be starting 2.5mg Oral Minoxidil this week.
I figured it should either be 1.25mg or 2.5mg but I'll get a 4 months supply and hopefully it will work out for me.
While he was friendly that is also how it came across to me.
He even made a comment about how he could be asked "Doctor, why did you prescribe this patient oral minoxidil/hypertension drug even though you're a dermatologist?"
I finally had my appointment to visit a dermatologist today and he was unwilling to prescribe me oral minoxidil and instead advised I use either finasteride, dutasteride, PRP, and lastly a hair transplant if I ever wanted to go that route.
