What hormone tests to ask for in addition to my annual blood work?

Hey guys, every 4-6 months I get blood work done because I take Synthroid for lifelong hypothyroidism and have to test for TSH, free T3 and T4. Doctor always does a bunch of tests at the same time like good and bad cholesterol, A1C, alhumin, liver enzymes, red blood cell and macrophage count...

What's The Verdict On minoxidil Causing Skin Aging?

I gave oral a good try in college. I forget how many drops I took orally daily, but when I did the math back then I took the equivalent of 5 mg daily. After a few days I was having daily severe asthma attacks so I stopped. I guess fluid was building up in my lungs or something. Not worth it. I...

What's The Verdict On minoxidil Causing Skin Aging?

It can spread through your pillow, hand, could be coincidence. Also the thing with humectants, including glycerine, is they can draw water into and out of the skin. They can hydrate and dehydrate depending on the state of your skin barrier and the relative humidity of the air in your home. Lower...

Doctor prescribed D0.01%/F0.1%/M5%/T0.025%TS ….what is this?

Thanks guys, it turns out the D stood for dexmethasone but you were right on he other chemicals. I had no idea finasteride worked topically. Guess I have been out of the loop haha I guess the dexmethasone was added to cut down on potential irritation from the other chemicals.

What's The Verdict On minoxidil Causing Skin Aging?

I used to sell skincare for a giant cosmetics company. Minoxidil does not cause aging. The propylene glycol is what is dehydrating your skin, not the minoxidil it’s self. You are spreading the propylene glycol from your scalp to your face and your skin is just dehydrated, likely coming from your...

Doctor prescribed D0.01%/F0.1%/M5%/T0.025%TS ….what is this?

With all of the dermatologists I’ve been to in the past, you’d like someone would have mentioned a magic potion that had to be compounded. Instead it’s a family doctor in a small town who has the good stuff apparently haha

Doctor prescribed D0.01%/F0.1%/M5%/T0.025%TS ….what is this?

My family general practitioner doctor prescribed this medicine and sent it to a compounding pharmacy. I have no idea what’s in it and no paperwork came with it. I was seeing the doctor for something completely unrelated (annual blood work/checkup and an Ambien refill) and while he was looking...
