Once you start with finasteride, it's very hard to switch to dutasteride without shedding. finasteride also causes shedding in the first place, but the end result is lackluster for most people. Most people who start with oral dutasteride to begin with have decent results, especially in the hairline.
Thanks for your story. I am currently on 15th month of finasteride, while experimenting with how to add dutasteride to the game.
I think DHT level needs to be low, but not too low. I tried oral dutasteride 0.5 mg + finasteride 1 mg every day for one week and it started giving me very weird chest tightness, soft breast...
Where are you getting oral dutasteride and topical dutasteride? I am using topical dutasteride from MinoxidilMax and this thing is thinning my hair as well.
Also, did you take oral dutasteride every day on top of topical dutasteride for 9 months? Is there anything else that you are on?
Been taking finasteride for 14 months without much results. My front and sides are still thinning/regressing.
I want to switch to dutasteride, but I've seen too many horror stories for people who have switched from finasteride to dutasteride.
This YouTuber had pretty good success from dutasteride twice, finasteride x5 a week after being on...
There are plenty of people who report less side effects from dutasteride than finasteride. Generally speaking, finasteride causes less sides including ED, gyno, testicular pain, depression, fatigue, etc, but it's not the same for everybody. It is true that it takes 3-4 months for dutasteride to reach steady state level of...
dutasteride works on Type I 5a-reductase, which is primarily on skin. It affects overall sebum production and for me, it dries my skin so drastically. It's not as bad as when I took Isotretinoin for acne though. My face just feels super tight after taking a shower. Has anybody experienced this? Does...
Title says it all. All I've seen is a horror story when one switches from finasteride to dutasteride. I tried it for 24 days, and I agree that dutasteride things your hair and makes shedding worse. Is there any way to transition from finasteride to dutasteride with minimal impact?
Wait... on your first post 7 years ago, it seems like your hairline receded quite a bit after 1 year mark. The width of your forehead seems broader in the 1 year mark photo. Is this true? I ask this because I am hitting 1 year mark with finasteride and I have a very similar experience. My existing hairs...
It's very hard to predict what finasteride will do for you in the long run. Most likely, it will regrow your hair, but there are people who continue to shed and hairline continues to regress. As some people pointed out, continual regression may be due to your hair loss progressing, but there may be...
