Topical Bicalutamide - The Ultimate Guide

Bicalutamide should be relatively stable over long periods of time in solution. I make a new solution once every 2 months or so. You can use any vehicle you want. I am using ethanol because it is quick drying (i.e. I can wash my hair minutes afterwards), has well-documented solubility data, is...

Topical Bicalutamide - The Ultimate Guide

I received many direct messages in response to a series of posts concerning a (mainly) topical maintenance regimen from about a year ago. Because I hardly visit this site anymore, but still want to help people struggling with hair loss, I made the following guide to the usage of one of the...

Alfatradiol, Aromatization of Hair Follicles and 3a-Diol-G.

As I have stated before (and as @Mr. Slap Head correctly pointed out), using weaker estrogens is NOT a good idea. There are many details in one of my older posts, but it comes down to the intrinsic activity at the receptor. E3 can only activate the ERa-ERb at about 10-20%. That means that at...

Strongly reduced aromatase enzyme activity. Does that mean less side effects from AA?

I am maintaining my hair, which is a great result. It has thickened up a bit as well, but nothing major (using for about 8 months now). I am currently experimenting with E2 Valerate microdoses in conjunction which seems to be generating some regrowth. Too soon to conclude anything about that...

Strongly reduced aromatase enzyme activity. Does that mean less side effects from AA?

Yes it's 96%. Typo. You don't need 10mg in total. I am using 1mg in total (0.25mg/mL), but maybe it's OK to use up to 4mg in total (1mg/mL). Trial and error I'm afraid. I would not use 10mg.

Use once weekly, but microneedle before (mesotherapy). It's also possible to use a mesotherapy gun that directly injects at a given depth. This ensures absorption to follicular depths. If you have pure Bicalutamide powder it should just be able to dissolve at 1mg/mL in 98% ethanol (I have tested...

    Exploring The Hormonal Route. Hair=life.

The flat dose-response curve for 5ARI's is very problematic. I think people have been trying for ages to get local benefit without getting systemic inhibition. Probably only possible with nanovehicles.

Strongly reduced aromatase enzyme activity. Does that mean less side effects from AA?

It won't buildup with once weekly use (technically it would, but the buildup would be bounded by sqrt(2) times your weekly dose, which I call "no buildup"). The dose concerns me more. Bicalutamide is extremely potent. It has AA effects in as low as 10mg oral daily in men, but a lower amount was...

Strongly reduced aromatase enzyme activity. Does that mean less side effects from AA?

I think it probably would. I am successfully using mesotherapy with ethanol (once weekly to prevent buildup).

Damn, I should have patented it :| However, this merges perfectly into an "anecdotal trial" I want to set up. I am very interested about hearing from people trailing Bicalutamide mesotherapy in my proposed format (once weekly). I am trying to establish a range for the concentration (just for...

Strongly reduced aromatase enzyme activity. Does that mean less side effects from AA?

Bicalutamide is an active drug. It does NOT have to pass through the liver in order to become active. Spironolactone on the other hand is a PRODRUG, so it has to pass through the liver before it becomes active. Topical spironolactone will therefore be useless.

Spot on. When someone feels adventurous about oral regimens they should first think very hard, and when still feeling adventurous they could maybe try Bicalutamide (after giving Dutasteride sufficient time, of course). Bicalutamide is still relatively benign (in comparison to E2) since it...

    Exploring The Hormonal Route. Hair=life.

Exactly. Especially the fact that 5AR-type 2 deficient individuals are protected from androgenic hairloss is striking. Of course, 'ordinary' people without this deficiency will never be able to complete annihilate DHT, but in theory should be able to come pretty close with topical Dutasteride...

There is no functional difference in scalp AR and prostate AR. Agreed, it would be amazing to have direct topical studies with Bica for Androgenetic Alopecia. Unfortunately, these don't exist (as far as I know) and they probably will never happen. So, we will have to do with extrapolation and existing research...

Topical Bica is definitely a very powerful tool that can be added to a cis-male regimen. You are right that topical Bica will build up in serum when used daily, hence it should not be used daily but only once weekly. RU is extremely weak in comparison with Bica. Furthermore, it has a very short...
