    while i don't think straighteners are the best thing in terms of hair damage, i don't think they really contribute to hair loss, though maybe it's possible that they damage hair that's already susceptible...i thought especially the ceramic plates were supposed to be much healthier for hair?

    LOL. My dad uses the copportone stuff mentioned earlier in the thread, and it seems to do the trick...he burns super easily and doesn't usually have a problem with the sunscreen...
