There is no disk in that roller. If you look carefully you can see individual needles going right down to the core of the roller. Rollers with disks have triangle shaped protrusions shaped straight out of the disk. picture of real on top, “fake” disk on bottom

Those look like real needles to me. Gotta link to the eBay listing?. I’m having a hard time finding real needle rollers

I think it can grow back, how to though, hasn’t been discovered yet.
