Don't start with dutasteride at all bro, that's even more aggressive than finasteride. Your hair looks perfectly fine and you are definitely on NW1 territory (just my opinion). Good luck to you!

So last year around October I started taking finasteride for a couple of weeks but due to sides such as a decrease in libido, less sperm and a weird tingle in my genital area (lol I know), I stopped taking it. Why don't you try RU first before hopping to dutasteride?

I wish that was true but my father is balding and so am I, all men from my mothers side have had strong,thick hair till their 50/60s. OP: your hair looks fine, in my opinion. :) Good luck, I hope your hair will remain that way, that'd be awesome!

Yes, I read somewhere that 5mg finasteride has the same effect for hair loss as 1mg. So sticking with 1mg only is safer than taking those 5mg pills. This is not a medical advice, though. Just what I saw several posters on a different forum say about that topic.

To be honest with you, I think your hair looks fine. Good that you went to see a doctor and I wish you all the best with the treatment. I wouldn't be too worried if I was you! :)

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies. :) I went to a dermatologist a few days ago and will see him again in a few weeks. We didn't really talk too long. My scalp is very itchy every now and then, could that be a reason for hair loss too?

Does diffuse hair loss also come from the genes? (dht and such) Or is it that hair loss that happens due to the lack of vitamines and so on?
