This is like Norwood 0.5 with maybe some loss in density which is extremely hard to tell just with our eyes on pictures. Your best option by far would be to go see a professionnal (either your doctor or a dermatologist) to get you checked and see if there is hairloss and if it is caused by MBP...
Norwood one, for the thinning it is best to see a dermatologist since they have the best knowledge to verify/confirm it. If it happens to be MBP then you could start considering finasteride which really is the only effective long term treatment that we have as of 2019 :)
You aren't receding from my point of view but the best is always to see a dermatologist if unsure, in the end you know your hair better than anyone on the internet.
On a unfortunate note it does look like a beginning of hairloss, on a fortunate note his loss is in the area that is the easiest to recover on treatments so he might get miracles from finasteride/minoxidil :D
But take our opinions with a grain of salt and consult your doctor :)
I agree with the upper post, I am of the same opinion. Your easiest and best long term chance is finasteride, you could probably maintain for a couple decades on it.
I haven't experienced thinning but yes, since finasteride cuts on average 60% of the DHT, it can make the bodyhair thinner.
Everyone is different though so it's case by case.
Also since for your case we are talking of dutasteride which cuts even more DHT, I would assume that it is normal for...
There could be some diffused thinning although I don't see the receding hairline here.
Since your hair is wet, it could do a similar result with someone who isn't balding if he takes a picture with a bright flash and has naturally thin hair. The only way that we can really know is if you give...
Yes, I have currently been on finasteride for 3 months and 3 weeks and have definitely noticed a decrease in shedding after 2 months and a half, the biggest shedding was between 1 month and a half and 2 months for me :)
I would go to a dermatologist and get a blood test done, if they confirm that the hairloss is genetics based, you could always try finasteride if you are very serious about it, it's a good way of stopping further hairloss although it is a huge commitment as you would need to take it for decades...
Hi, I am not an expert by any means so take my opinion with a grain of salt but my 10 years old brother has the same crown as you so I would think that you are fine, although since we have no older photos to compare it is a bit difficult to judge.
Could you give us older photos if it exists?
