Still sticking with it :) Method I'm nearly out of the Rogaine foam at this point. I've come to appreciate the foam more, but it's not cost effective - especially the way I use it. My method has developed for applying both the foam and minoxidil dropper: Rather than parting my hair in...

    JolDee's story

Went to my dermatologist today and got the go-ahead to begin Minoxidil. I was going to do it anyways, but for me having a doctor tell me its alright puts me at ease like nothing else. Interestingly, ketoconazole was not recommended as it is designed to target sebum production (or something to...

ROgaine NOT the same as REgaine

Swopo- although I am not yet using Rogaine/minoxidil myself, I would do as Medium suggests. Time and again I've read that the foam is superior to the liquid (comparing Rogaine vs Rogaine foam). In multiple reports it is suggested that itchiness and flaking disappear once switching to the foam...

    Pick my next treatment

Although you seem to have a lot more experience at this than I do, if I were to offer any advice, I'd say to just stick with what you're doing right now. Your results are impressive after only 3 months! Maybe let your current regiment marinate; give your hair a chance to stabilize a bit...

I hate when that happens- whenever I'm posting something longer than a paragraph, I *select all* and *copy* the text. Too many times have I written a full page only to have it lost to the browser demons: back page and refresh, lol. Thanks for re-typing it all! 1. As far as shampoo goes, I...

    Enrique Iglesias... wig?

To make a generalization: Latins generally have better (less loss) hair than European/Americans. Latin genes must be good... My father who has very thinning hair is British and married my mom (American). They divorced and my dad remarried to a Chilean and had my step-brother. My step-brother...

Was anyone here Born a NW2?

I feel for you atliens99, seeing blood-related family that have no hair freaks me out. My dad isn't bald but his hair is VERY thinned out. My grandfather on my mother's side was bald by 30 and that haunts me. Keep an eye on your hair loss and start DHT-blockers. I went on Propecia at like 21...

Does minoxidil work on the temples?

I'd be interested to hear some feedback on this as well. I've read reports/reviews that say minoxidil will sometimes work on the hairline. Apparently during testing it was only used on the vertex/crown and thus the reason it is only claimed to work there. I think it's a YMMV (your mileage may vary).

    SimpsonKnight's story

I've never heard of this one - how well does spironolactone work? You also talk about it being too soon for Minoxidil. I've read some reports that Minoxidil looses effectiveness after like 4 years, does that mean that it stops working entirely or does it just stop growing new hair? I would...

    JolDee's story

Hello everyone! I'm a 27 y/o male and I'm losing my hair (surprise!). My hair loss started around age 18 when my hair dresser commented that I appeared to be losing my hair. At the time I was a little worried but I still clearly had a thick, full head, and I took no actions - I mean, come on...
