My guess would be that if you hide it for a long time and your girl finds out herself, she'll give you the "I don't care, why didn't you tell me before?". I figure most girls will give that reaction, so I'm just open with everyone. Take it with humor

Funny little update, my uncle, aged 58, nearly exchanged fists with a guy at a restaurant the friday after Thanksgiving after the guy called him p****head (a slight variation of my particular nickname)....

My closest friends call me ****head, but we make fun of each other all the time with much cruder language, so I don't care. However, a very good looking lady once called me George Castanza....Oh boy did that hurt.

There's no harm in asking a doctor, I'd say. Even though you're supposed to wait 18 months, should it not have worked you will have wasted a good amount of time on one pill....
