EddieBly's story - (Film actor and motivational speaker)

Re: Film actor and motivational speaker dealing with male pattern baldness You didn't mention any topical treatments. Those may not be as effective as a pill but they're much better than nothing. There's topical spironolactone, flutamide, fluridil, topical ketoconazole and RU...just to mention a few. Have a look at...

    3 Weeks 1.25 MG finasteride/day, Gyno

What are all those red pimples anyway? By the way you won't develop gyno from finasteride in just 2 weeks.

Question for Bryan or anyone who can answer to this.

I imagine it'd be slightly less effective in its inhibition of ar since the levels of the drug aren't as stable during the week, and also, it's more taxing on the liver. If you aren't an alcoholic I suppose it shouldn't be a problem as there are people taking 2.5 mg/daily, just sayin'.

    Coolbean22's Story - (balding at 15!)

Yes, you do show a receding hairline. And I think you're too young to consider finasteride for now. However, if you really, really want to keep your hair, I suggest you do some serious research on topical treatments. With those you will probably be able to halt or slow down greatly your hair...

    Losing hair at 16

Why hasn't anyone suggested topical spironolactone, flutamide or even RU (if you're that desperate)? Definitely take a look at those topicals, if you really want to keep your hair for a couple years without finasteride.

What Norwood rating is my hair should I be worried?

Does indeed look like a NW3. With such a slow pace of balding, I think you'd be set for life with just Propecia.

    Obsidian's Story - (age 21) *** UPDATE***

As others have pointed out, it doesn't look bad when it's dry and it seems you can still pull of a NW1. You are probably balding at or near to the normal pace of your body since you don't have any strong antiandrogens in your regimen, and it still doesn't seem too "aggressive". So you have that...

Can you guys give me your opinion?

It does seem like you are thinning on the sides. It could be DUPA. Maybe it's not male pattern baldness what you are dealing with, after all. I suggest you visit a dermatologist or a hair transplant doctor if you have the chance.

    It's all over now...

Agree with uncomfortable man. I see a lot of diffuse thinning on the top and there seem to be thicker hairs along the hairline. It might have been ghg's fault for not posting good pictures before, but now it just seems twisted to say the guy has a "full head of hair" when it's obvious he doesn't.

    Performance anxiety?

So, while depressed thinking about how, at the moment, I'm COMPLETELY UNABLE to 'get it up' even looking at p**rn, the idea of becoming a Catholic priest came into my head. The Catholic tradition runs in my family. Although an atheist at the moment, perhaps some quack using hypnosis could make...

    Performance anxiety?

What if I lower the dose to 0.5 mg daily? And start 50 mg Zinc (As per Enden's recommendation)? Do you think that would be enough to improve things? By the way, how long do I have to take the Zinc?

Chris' Story (22 / with pics!)

Re: Chris' story (w/ pics) Your comb forward style didn't look bad at all. With buzzed hair you can see the areas where you are thinning. So, don't wear your hair too short.
