I honestly don't think it's AA. I've been following your thread for awhile because it's really similar to my loss as in treatments don't slow it down and it's very rapid. I honestly believe it's thyroid related because I also have a nodule and thyroid issues.

They didn't even address it. Just said I had "pink spots" on my scalp and it was a bit "scaly" lol whatever that means. She told me to stop oral finasteride but tried to sell me her topical finasteride + minoxidil. It's a joke and all they want is money. Took about 5 mins.

That's the back of my hair. I had an expensive appointment with a trichologist who took one quick look and said Androgenetic Alopecia. Looks similar to OP's though doesn't it?

Has anyone here had hypothyroidism & can a TSH of 6.62 cause hair thinning? I'm not sure if it's hypothyroidism or a combination of Androgenetic Alopecia and hypothyroidism cause my rapid hair thinning.

Also how does seborrheic dermatitis even start?

Do you get lines or streaks of hair loss like OP's? I have that & found out I have high TSH levels but can't get on treatment to see if it will help

Off topic but can hypothyroidism/ hashimotos cause the hair strands to thin themselves? I know it causes hair loss but do the hairs actually miniturize?

I heard of people having allergic reactions to thyroid meds. Something about the colouring in the tablets. Are yours a different colour?

How did you fix yours?

Nah they won't medicate since my T4 is "normal" but I have a strong feeling my hair thinning is due to my thyroid since I lost all wavy texture and it's now paper thin and dry. Strange that the thyroid medication actually caused your shedding and thinning since I thought it was supposed to...

I tried Finasteride for 6 months but my hair continued to rapidly get thinner so I stopped.
