I don't think you are always better with propecia .... there are many drugs and treatments that are supposed to help diseases and health conditions that - for a minor percentage, either make things significantly worse instead of better or in worst case scenarios, negative side effects can cause...

It's funny tho I haven't mentioned it yet in my story that I also have a twin whose hair is thicker than mine and no sudden hair loss in herself.

My burning itching scalp has been going on for about two months, along with the accerated hair loss. Comforting to hear it might just be the drug. I've only been off propecia for a few weeks, so I will see if the burning and itching stop in time. My doctor prescribed me cortisone scalp lotion...

This is the same thing that happened to me and I feel very bad for you. I hope you have stopped taking it

Just wanted to provide an update on this thread. I have gone back for a second round of injections and my dermatologist is now treating me for alopecia areata - which I have never suffered from in my life and I am now 47 years old. I lost most of the hair on both sides of my head after six...

All I can say is the truth of what happened to me - exactly six months after starting propecia - I lost almost all the hair on both sides of my head within about six weeks .... my dermatologist was shocked to say the least. I have had slowly worsening female pattern hairless since the age of 23...

The other thing I would like to put out there for anyone on these forms to please respond to is to let me know how you went off Propecia if you did and what methods you feel would work best to deal with any negative affects of going off at after about seven months thank you

As another cautionary tale for those who read these posts I would like to say that if you walk into a dermatologist office and they immediately tell you that hair is not their “thing “ then you should march right out of there and get a referral to someone who specializes in treating hair loss...

Thank you even though your story is very sad it is very similar to mine and it actually makes me even more sure that as well with me it is the Propecia that is making my hair fall out like this because if there’s one thing I know after dealing with it for 25 years actually more like 30 years is...

The derm said they are prescribing it to women with success and I thought the two pills together- spironolactone and propecia - would work great I think the top and front of my head has new hair and the back might be fuller but the sides are bald and they were not bald two months ago
