Personally I think it's likely that lactate is acting as a mimetic to a hypoxic state which looks to be good for hair: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20203417
Hypoxia->Lactate->"Growth factor cascade"
Anecdotal experience ins't proof of anything.
We know body hair is regulated by DHT, and scalp hair is down regulated by DHT.
Could someone have very high DHT and no hairloss? Sure, but that doesn't mean there isn't a connection.
Have you ever had your Growth Hormone checked (you do this by measuring igf-1 because GH is pulsatile)?
Your experiences closely match my own. However I went on TRT because my testosterone was very low and it didn't help at all. What's weird is that I'm losing hair at all with very low...
Serum DHT isn't that important, as it's been shown that follicles can metabolize cholesterol into sex hormones locally.
Igf-1 is also another factor, as it's the mediator in thickening body hair in response to dht binding, is also does the opposite in the balding scalp follicles.

"I tried using topical 7% Valproic Acid for a couple weeks.. With me, it changed my affect. It made me REALLY drowsy throughout the day.."
A bunch of people have tried it, with no real results.
Read the rest of the thread to understand the postulated relationship between DHT and NF-kB (ie. DHT->NF-KB over-expression->COX2 over-expression->increased PGD2)
" He exposed human keratinocytes, or skin cells, to 0.005 percent bleach for one hour before treating them with a signaling molecule that normally activates NF-kB function. He found that exposure to the solution blocked the expression of two genes known to be regulated by NF-kB. The effect was...
DO NOT MEGADOSE B5!
That is the reason my hair is falling out, and I have adrenal fatigue because of it.
Even taking 2 grams for 2 weeks can really mess you up.
This has been talked about before, apparently estrogen reduces tear production, and test. raises it. finasteride, long term raises estrogen, so people due have issues. I take DIM and leave it at that,
There are a few things that CAN help with gyno, such as aromatize inhibitors or http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=5643
"Epistaneâ„¢ binds specifically to the 17?-estradiol receptor protein in the target tissues. Because of its long lasting and strong effects on specific tissue...
I really don't think just more estrogen is the answer, or at least it isn't that simple. I think it's the type of estrogen more then anything. I've come across people with VERY low DHT, and very high e2 who has massive diffuse hairloss with miniturization.
