I am skeptical about the laser comb, but I think you made some mistakes. If 1 inch = 2.54 cm, then you have to multiply the given 12 per sq cm amount by 2.54 squared, so you end up with about 78 hairs per square inch, NOT the 32 you mention. 32 would be for a 1cm by 1 inch rectangle...
