Thinking This Stuff Might Be Linked. What Do You Think?

Hormone issue can accelerate hair loss. Stop eating industrial food and switch to an healthy diet such as the paleo diet, if it doesn't slow you hair loss at least it will make you healthy.

    RU insomnia

I don't think it's gaba, because it's directly related to 5-alpha reduction, not the androgen receptors. It might be a common problems with androgen receptor blockers, some people report this problem with spironolactone too.

    Insomnia from Finasteride?

Finasteride can make you anxious ( and insomnia is often caused by anxiety) by inhibiting allopregnanolone who is also produced via the 5-alpha reductase enzyme type 2 in the brain. Some people are more sensible to it than others.

    Understanding Androgenetic Alopecia

-> "Insulin resistance, even without obesity, results in lower SHBG levels. This is associated with increased intra-abdominal fat deposition and an unfavorable cardiovascular risk profile." Men with early onset of baldness have also been shown to be in a pre-diabetics state. Looks like insulin...

    Understanding Androgenetic Alopecia

Elevated estrogen level is actually a cause of hair loss in women, and too much estrogen is bad overall (linked to cancer in women and men). I'm pretty sure elevated estrogen level in men would actually increase, to some extent, the rate of hair loss. There is a lot of similitude between...

    Hairloss and blood flow

Receptors being more sensible is a symptom, not a cause. Hair loss is multi-factorial, if it was that simple they would most probably have found the gene that every balding men has that make them lose hairs. It is caused by a variety of genes and environment factors that are not the same for...

    Hairloss and blood flow

Blood flow is good at giving oxygen, and i'ts known that in a low O2 environement, exponentially more DHT is produced. Even in people without Male Pattern Baldness, hair follicles can deteriorate from DHT, the difference is that we most probably produce more DHT.

New Anti-Aging topicals to help stop hair loss?

I had some progress since I started to inject Epitalon which is a telomerase activator, I'm pretty sure it's part of my success. It make sense that it helps because when you lose hairs, the cells of your dermal papilla go into senescence as a results of DHT, and a telomerase activator helps to...

    caffeine and balls

Nut pain is a side effects of anti-androgen, might be more related to your intake of dutasteride than coffee.

Pattern Alopecia during Hormone anti anger therapy

Progesterone is one of them. It's actually very related to hair quality in women, even in men. Finasteride can be considered a progestin, a synthetic version of progesterone. Like progesterone, it binds to 5-alpha reductase and it becomes dihydro-finasteride. Progesterone uses the 5-alpha...

Pattern Alopecia during Hormone anti anger therapy

No, estrogen is weak against hair loss. There are other women hormones that provides a better protection against hair loss than estrogen. As we get older, we tend to get more estrogen than testosterone as men and it does not really help us against hair loss.

A possible way to cure baldness... Sonic hedgehog REVIEW

Well this is all kind of related. DHT induces oxidative stress in the hair follicles -> cells are going senescent and stop to divides / inflammation -> hair loss Stopping DHT will be always better than stopping inflammation. Oxidative stress is not a linear phenomenon, this is part of the...

    Hairloss on a low-carb diet

Eating "low-carb" does not assert the quality of what you eat. They were also provided poor quality multi-vitamins (some low quality vitamin can be harmful).

Conceiving a healthy child while using both Finisteride / Minoxidil

You might wan't to talk with your doctor about it. I was able to find two studies about it, and if I understand correctly, there is a potential risk. A quote from the first one: source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3205531/ The conclusion of the second study: source...

    Dizziness on finasteride normal ?

A friend of mine (we were roommate at university) had similar experiences when he was on finasteride. At that time we were both taking finasteride and he had weird period of dizziness ranging from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, maybe even more. We never even suspected that it could be caused by finasteride...
