I have been on Finasteride for 4.5 months and during that time shedding has increased severely. I'm losing a ton of high quality terminal hairs every time I shower. It seems as though the hairs are attached to my scalp very fragilely. If I so much as touch my hair I get many hairs on my hands...

The only studies I've seen conclude that Dutasteride is far more effective than Finasteride. Would low dose spironolactone + finasteride under suoervision of a physician be like a middle ground between finasteride and dutasteride?

I understand that Oral spironolactone can be dangerous. But under supervision of a doctor and doing blood tests etc., can the risk be well managed? Finasteride inhibits something like 38% of scalp DHT, would a small dose of oral spironolactone not, indirectly, cause a further DHT inhibition?

At some point I'm interested in adding low-dose spironolactone to add to my Finasteride 1 mg daily. The reason I would do this would be ensure the effectiveness of the finasteride over the long term. Would this work?

Can you post some pics? I'd like to get an idea on what the efficacy of finasteride is. thanks

Is it possible that Testosterone is causing my hairloss and not DHT? Could it be that my scalp is itching from the Testosterone increase that finasteride cause? Should I try spironolactone instead to lower the Testosterone level?

My scalp never used to itch much, but since I started finasteride it has gotten really itchy. Particularly at the crown. I think this is a bad sign. Does anyone have experience with this?
