I had reported earlier on my experiment. This is an update.
I was on Finasteride 1mg for 3 years. I definitely had side effects. It got much better after 7 months but I still had it. I decided to experiment with the dose. Cut to .5mg. Hair stayed good. Side effects definitely were...
I share with you what happened to me and Rogaine.
Long time ago now, 12 years ago, when I was 22 I started to have some hair loss. I thought I try to preempt it.
Got Rogaine. Within 2-3 weeks I started using maybe 1000 hairs a day. I stopped. The hair did not come back. I figured I...
I have had to deal with my own hairloss since I was 22. I am now 34. I have been highly successful by researching, experimenting, and being higly disciplined with a routine that works. I used to have really great hair to the point that I constantly got complemented on it. I now have decent...
Fran, I think Nizoral not only has completely stopped scalp irritation and flaking but it has also reduced my hairloss over the entire scalp.
Now, finasteride (I use Proscar) is the king and the most important but Nizoral has helped without a doubt in my opinion.
Well I actually experimented and monitered results very very carefully.
I was on Proscar 1.25mg, minoxidil 5%, Retin A to the front hairline, and Nizoral every day. Had good results.
Did have side effects from finasteride. I dropped to .5 then to .25 (propecia now) then to nothing.
At .5 I had...
I use it every day. It is my only shampoo.
If you have not used it yet start using it 2 days a week. Increase as needed. For me Nizoral has been highly, highly effective. Using everyday seem to work even better for me. And it is a great shampoo leaving my hair in great condition.
Yes. My hair thinned everywhere. Of course much worse on the top.
In addition my front and temples were receding.
Propecia seems to have stabalized the crown, back and the sides.
Rogaine,+Retin A is holding up the front and temples.
I also use Nizoral and I think it is fatanstic overall.
I have been on minoxidil for over 10 years now.
I agree with the second poster. Minoxidil should be one of the last things you try for hairloss because once you start you better not stop. Nizoral I think should be the first line of defense.
In any case, for me minoxidil increases the...
I have been on propecia for 2 years and most recently have experimented with the dose.
What is clear to me is that for me it works quite well for sides, back and top of the head. It does not seem to work for the front. (Rogaine with Retin A work on the front for me.)
For sure if you are...
Thank you for posting your pictures and results.
I understand from the pictures that Propecia and Rogaine are making a big difference for you. Why do you think Folligen is?
Also why do you think that the rest of the stuff you are taking is working?
I am on Propecia, Rogaine, Retin A to...
Not true with me.
I lowered dosage from 1 to 1/2 to 1/3 to 1/4 to none.
I followed the side effects and effect on hairloss very very carefully.
At none I have more hairloss in particular at the top. Does not seem to affect the front much.
The side effects is definitely less for me at...
Absolutely.
Most right handed people have worse right sides for hairloss and general skin condition.
It is related to the neurological difference between the two sides.
This is a good indication that muscle action, and state of the nervous system greatly affects hairloss probably through...
I have had decreased sexual drive since I started taking propecia 3 years ago. It is there but decreased. Erections are not as easy or as hard as before. I need to add that I had a heck of a drive and although in my 30s I could go 4 times in a row frequently, no exaggeration.
Less semen...

Less semen. Also watery and less white. I have been on...
Should I try this? Should I buy this? Any bad experiences?
A little about my current treatment:
Everyday unless stated otherwise
2% Nizoral-for me simply top of the list; cheap and highly effective
1/6 Proscar
5% Minoxidil-twice daily from costco of course (is cheaper available?)
Retin...
