Does smoking cigarettes cause hair loss?

My experience is that smoking does speed up the hair loss. Had seen some signs of a receding hairline before, but I just lost so much hair the year I lived together with 2 other smokers it's not even funny. We smoked pretty much constantly indoors. My other friend started balding quite a bit...

Long term effects of the big 3

I've been on the big 3 for a bit longer than 2 years now and have seen improvements for about the first 20 months of that period. Recently there has been no noticable change. Anyone noticed improvements longer than that? Not sure what the norm is here. Cheers.

18 and beginning of hair loss?

The hair loss isn't bad, why does he have to jump on Monix? That should be up to him, right, if he wants to maintain or regrow? No point taking more things than you have/want to IMO.

Then I'm afraid you'll lose your hair. That's a fact. minoxidil won't do you any good on its in the long term. But hey, if you're not too worried about losing your hair then what's the worry :) At least save the money you're using on all that other stuff. I hear women are into rich, bald men.

Excellent post from chrb. Couldn't have said it better myself. Good luck. That said, if the OP would post some pictures that would help.

My Quest For Aesthetic Hair!! ( 19 Year Old With Norwood 3 hairline and bald spots )

It mainly helps on bald spots, the hairline is a bonus, though you do have small hairs under the skin that you can make bigger and stronger and thus get more hair through ''regrowth''. While I haven't read about anyone experiencing long term erectily dysfunction, I do understand your concern...

18 and beginning of hair loss?

Can you get some better pics, preferably without your hand in the way and from a wider angle and maybe more light? In any case, if you're concerned that you're hair is receding, you should take monthly pics in order to monitor the situation. There are some things you can do in order to stop it...

My Quest For Aesthetic Hair!! ( 19 Year Old With Norwood 3 hairline and bald spots )

You should get on finasteride asap. Some do get side effects, but then you can just quit. I've been on finasteride for 2 years now and it hasn't affected my face, beard or boner any. My hairline has gone from a Norwood 3v-4 to 2a-3 during that time, and it might still be improving. The hair has become a lot thicker...

19 Years of age: Norwood 2-3 (is there anybody out there).

It's not that bad yet. Your current regimen can be quite helpful if you just give it a chance. Just knowing that any further hair loss has been prevented will be a lot of help to your psyche. Maybe you'll learn to live with it. It's not impossible. I have. You seem pretty determined to do a hair transplant...

23 and receding fast, totally depressed

nizoral will help some. I'd really suggest you start using finasteride as fast as possible tho. minoxidil.. Not all that useful without finasteride. I'm afraid you just gonna have to take another drug if you want to keep your hair the way it is.

    New Dermaroller Study; Thoughts, comments?

Squeegee, you're like a mad, reckless scientist. As interesting as this might sound to some, I'd suggest having a little bit of patience and not do anything too dramatic to yourself :)

19 Years of age: Norwood 2-3 (is there anybody out there).

I started seeing regrowth after just 3-4 months of using finasteride+minoxidil+nizoral (fungoral i believe it's called in Norway - can be bought at the pharmacy) and still have seen progress for the 2 years I've been using that regimen, but it really is individual if and how well it works. Using a tablet...
