FYI the 2% spironolactone solution that Dr. Lee used to make smelled terrible.
You can crush the spironolactone tabs but keep in mind they have fillers and you won't get a clear solution. I tried this myself and I ended up with a "gunky" residue. You're much better off buying a ready cream.
Example 9 - Obtaining the Pharmaceutical Form Containing the Medication in Solvate Form IV for Replacing the Solvent During the Galenic Formulation Procedure.
Dissolve 100 g of cortexolone 17?-propionate of crystalline form III in 2500 g of propylene glycol under stirring at room...

By the way the only commercially available products are 0.03%. Anything above that (for now) is home made.
Does anyone know of a lab which can test the strength of their solutions? If we all chipped in and paid for a lab test I'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive. I'm beginning to have my doubts about this company. After Dr. Lee crashed and burned I had to switch and I've lost ground in the last...
My hairloss is rather diffuse so I applied the generic Latisse to the top & vertex of my head. The bottles are pretty small so I probably finished the 4 bottles in a month or two.
How long did you use it for? and did you just concentrate on one area or try to make it spread all over?
Last year I bought 4 bottles of generic bimatoprost for myself and 2 more for my gf from India. I personally didn't notice anything positive while using it. I'm reasonably sure the liquid didn't absorb into my scalp at all as it was akin to using water. On the other hand my gf's lashes grew...
I was also considering a cream mixture. I used to use Dr. Lee's 5% spironolactone cream. That worked really well for me. I rubbed it into my scalp and it dissolved without a mess of any kind.
The use of bimatoprost and minoxidil may be complementary as both are proven growth agents. However if the two compounds are mixed together then something can possibly go awry.
To get the benefits of both just make a separate solution of bimatoprost. That's what I plan on doing.
I'm in the same boat as many others in that Dr. Lee shutting down forced me to look elsewhere for similar products. I use a 5% and 10% minoxidil from one of the companies listed in an earlier post. I've had my doubts about the products though.
Bryan do you remember many moons ago when...
I have Everclear (95% alcohol by volume). I was going to dissolve the bimatoprost in this first and then add the PG and/or PG and distilled water.
I would really like to know the purity of the ethanol. what is the inital concentration and source? I work in a laboratory and have acess to 70%...
Thanks Rabid. I only have a 0.52 oz bottle of DMI so I'll stick to a vehicle of ethanol and PG. What percentage of each have you and others been using?
