I'm in the exact same situation than you, honk. I don't know when it's really the right time to quit, but I've sort of decided that I will still give it a couple of months, so 14-month mark is pretty much it. Maybe 15. But that's it then, no coming back. Sure - some people might get results only...
It's my 1-year mark pretty much today or so on finasteride. No improvement. I'm going to give it another 2-3 months, but that's it then if it doesn't show anything.
I wrote a song.
"Have you ever seen the scalp"
Someone told me long ago
There's Finasteride for the bald
I know
I've been eating that...
Tomorrow's my 11 month mark on finasteride. Still no improvement, just getting worse. No major visible shedding, but it's getting thinner and thinner all the time. :( Next 1-2 months will decide whether I continue or quit. At the moment the latter option seems much more probable, unfortunately.
Yes, yankee, I'm hoping also to get some confidence from other people who were in the same situation. So people speak out! (:
Vast majority seem to respond in under 12 months with regrowth though, or at least maintaining. I'm getting worse every week. So frustrating, so depressing.
My hair has become worse continuously during 10.5 months on finasteride. No real shedding, but considerable thinning. I see maybe 20 hairs in the shower, so shedding is not bad, but my hair looks like crap, very thin and transparent.
So my question is, how long after starting finasteride can the hair still get...
I'm wondering what is this disappearing of hair due to finasteride? No shedding, but still huge thinning. Those areas where I had decently strong hair before at front and top are now thin and transparent. What in finasteride is causing this? :dunno:
Exactly the same has happened for me too. I'm 27, 10 months on finasteride, thinned all over, hair is transparent, scalp is visible. But no major shedding - hair just disappears. I'm probably going to wait and see until 13 months have passed and then quit if no improvement has happened. Still hoping for...
Yes, this is what I also wondered.
They are all young women, 18-25 years old probably, who are giving out the flyers.
I'm not imagining anything, I'm just looking at the figures. Roughly 10-12 times with a cap --> 7-8 flyers. 8-10 times with my (lack of) hair --> 0 flyers. It is amazing.
I...
This is a funny little story, but I do have already a fair amount of "empirical data" on it..
So each day I go to through a mall from train station to home. During the recent months, there has occasionally been advertisement for local fitness club in certain part of the mall; young, healthy...
Ok, so usually it's 3-6 months before any regrowth is visible (of course in many cases there is no regrowth at all even though finasteride is working). But what is the longest time you have heard or experienced yourself that first sign of regrowth occured since starting finasteride? 9 months? 12 months? 16 months?
