    8 years on finasteride. finasteride losing effectiveness. Went on dutasteride 10.5 months ago. Haven't noticed any slow in hair loss. Will give it 12-15 months. Went up to 1 mg last week, so hopefully your strategy will work for me.

    This is not true. finasteride/dutasteride does lose effectiveness over time. I'm the perfect example. I still have hair, hair loss isn't noticeable, but I can see it gradually thinning out. It's not a 3 year-long shed, I can tell you that much.

    That's the thing, finasteride did start loosing its effectiveness after year 6ish, and really started noticing in year 7. I started thinning diffusely, especially at the front. I decided this was too much so I jumped on dutasteride. 9.5 months in and not looking good.
