    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Well this was humbling. I went to see a new dermatologist last week and took some progress photos under different lighting. I didn’t realize how bad my recession was. He increased my minoxidil from 1.25mg/day to 2.5mg/day. I’m not optimistic that it will make that much of a difference. I need...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

It seems like a lot of people have success with it. I'm just trying to keep my options open before going the hair transplant route. Also got a haircut - still concerned about the temples. I'm going to start back the dermapen and nizoral. Would using topical minoxidil in addition to the oral route make a...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Do you mean miniaturization? I thought maturation was complete by your late 20s? At what point do I pursue a hair transplant?

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Checking in for another update. I’m still not sure how I’m responding. I’m considering asking my dermatologist about dutasteride.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

I’ve been on oral minoxidil for over 6 months now and was pleased with the results but recently saw a candid photo of myself from the side which made me look like I was starting to recede/thin. Curious what you all think.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

I’ve been on oral minoxidil for a little over three months now and have been pleased with the results and lack of side effects (as far as I can tell). I was using topical minoxidil until my supply ran out. So my regimen is now finasteride (1mg) and minoxidil (2.5mg) once a day.

Oral minoxidil for runners/those with low resting heart rate? What was your experience?

As far as I know my blood pressure has always been in the normal range. My heart rate is the only thing that runs low.

Oral minoxidil for runners/those with low resting heart rate? What was your experience?

I’m considering asking my dermatologist for an oral minoxidil prescription. I’m a little hesitant given its reputation, but I’ve been on finasteride for years without issue (totally different medication, I know, but it has its own scary side effects). I’m a long-distance runner and have a very low...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Update: I’m considering asking my dermatologist for an oral minoxidil prescription. I feel like I’m still receding even with my oral finasteride/topical minoxidil routine. I’m a little worried about the sides, but I’ve had none with finasteride (totally different medication, I know). Has anyone had success with...

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Thanks - fortunately I haven’t had any sides, so I’ll continue using it along with minoxidil and the dermapen. I’m just concerned about my temples. The hairs seem much thinner than the others along my hairline.

Progress update - I’m still a little concerned about the temple area but it doesn’t seem to getting significantly worse. Hoping the dermapen is helping.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

Progress update (just got a haircut so it’s a little shorter than usual). I feel like I’m in ok shape, but I’m still worried about the temples. Still no issues with finasteride.

    Receding Hairline? High Temples? Thoughts?

No, nothing noticeable. Not even when I first started. Typically only people with negative reactions to a medication are going to write about their experience online — it’s the vocal minority.

I’m just trying to stay on top of it. finasteride has been a breeze - hope it is the same for you if you decide to go that route later.
