Hello,

as the title states ive been on these drugs for a while. Also been using nizoral regularly.

No real results to note other than the fact i still have hair. My problem area is the hairline. It has not got significantly worse over the last year, but it has not gotten much better. so maybe thats a partial win.

Its getting to the point where i can literally count the hairs on my hairline. its not bad on some days, but on others its noticeable.

Anyway, ive been taking only 0.625mg propecia per day (half a 1.25mg pill). Should i up the dose? Kind of scared to throw things out of wack even more or cause a massive shed when right now i seem to be maintaining and losing very slowly, which is preferable to eradicating my hair in a short period of time.

Also might make a trip to the dermatologist soon just to have my scalp looked at.

There is no such thing as a 1.25mg propecia pill, so you have probably been taking 0.5mg per day. The recommended dosage is 1mg per day. You really should raise the dose to that.

Other than that, you do have results. You hair has not got significantly worse over the year. Im afraid if you only consider that a partial win, your expectations are too high. Sorry man, but many of us have been through that disappointing stage of things. You are unlikely to regrow hair, particularly at the hairline.

Your decision now is whether to continue taking propecia or whether to let nature take its course. Unfortunately, there are no other medicines that will give you results that are as good as what you are getting with these two.

I think we have more than enough proof to conclude that Propecia (finasteride) is not the solution has it doesnt work for the majority (and by that I mean really good results)...

Finasteride is only for MAINTAINING what you have. It does not regrow hair, or it does very little.
If you have expectations to regrow all, or 80% of the hair you lost, of course, it can't do that.
