18 Year Old ? Am I Losing It ?

Do I have posted on here a couple of times and only two people out of 19 have told me it looks like I am receding, so I have left it a couple of months and now my baldness paranoia has come back !

When ever I ask my family they all tell me I am fine ! Even my uncles who are bald tell me I'm not going bald , I just can't shake the feeling they are protecting my feelings, so I'm leaving it to the lovely people on the Internet to help me !


I will attach some pictures, I feel as if it may benefit you to have some information as well so here goes !

Both my grandfathers were not bald, my dad had that horseshoe thing going on, my dads brother is just starting to lose it at 60 yrs old and all three of my mums brothers are bald ! I heard that weight loss can cause hairloss and I have lost 80 pounds since November 2015 so I am hoping that is the reason for the thinning of my hair ! ( maybe wishful thinking )

In all seriousness any options would be appreciated, I really don't want to go bald by the age of 21, it's starting to get me down thinking about it !

Doesn't look like it to me. At that point you are really the only one who can tell if your hair is getting thinner. You know your hair better than anyone else. Looking through each picture: crown - no noticeable hair loss (just your cowlick); hairline - not noticeable but could be just starting.

It seems to be starting. Just don't get comfortable about it. Complacency will lead to you waking up one morning with a NW3+ wishing you had gotten on treatment earlier.

Crown and all looks really good. I can't really tell if your hairline is receding. If anything, it looks like a completely normal "mature" hairline. But if you feel like in 6 months that it's gotten worse, consider very cheap finasteride from Walmart (if you live in the US). If you need more info on that, I'd be happy to help (people pay way too much for Propecia). But overall, it doesn't look like anything to worry about. I don't think your family were sparing your feelings.
