Hey guys. I'm 20 now. Basically I noticed at around 18 my hairline receded a bit. According to my highest crease on my forehead in the middle its risen about 1/2 an inch and on the sides maybe 1 inch? It hasn't receded anymore.

Just to show. this is me at 18ish and this is me now at 20

Anyway. I still have thick hair all around, when I get my hair cut I get the front fringe thinned out and the top thinned out too. I have no bald spots nor am i shedded hair at all.

I'm Polish so as some of you might know, Polish people tend to have larger foreheads and higher more mature hairlines (more receeded crowns etc) examples (this is just one example but believe me it is a VERY common hairline in poland):

I recently got paranoid, I always had a higher hairline but i wasn't completely sure. When I look at my father is has a very similar hairline to myself and hes around 60 with a full head of hair and my hair does resemble his a lot (my hair is curly and he's the only one in my family apart from his grandad who had curly hair who also had a full head of hair)

me and my father:

anyway here are some closeups of my hairline pulled back. Just noting though, last time I got my hair cut the hair dresser cut my crown bits bit but left the middle fringe bit so it appears that theres less hair on the crowns than in the middle but thats because she cut it that way although i have noticed that the hair on my crowns grow slower than hair on the sides or back lets say

If anyone could help me out that'd be great as it's getting annoying thinking weather or not I have MBP or just a typical polish hairline :p. Anyone put me out my misery. Thanks a lot :)

your last picture shows all signs of male pattern baldness fella, thinning and minituarisation all over.
your still around the nw2 mark and it could stop at any point, but dont just hope it will. maybe look into treatments.

you got bald men in your family on your mothers side?

those 2 big guys in the picture, left is male pattern baldness not normal hairline i reckon.

Yeah my mothers side, her dad was bald, one her sisters has thin hair and another has thick hair. If I was too try and prevent any further recession what would I do? Is it pretty much clearly MBP because I was thinking couldn't the miniturziation be because of a maturing hairline. You guys obviously know better was just wondering.

Would jumping on procepia at my age be beneficial? I don't really care about regrowing anything I just want to stop or slow it as much as possible. I'm not sure wether to do somthing about it or just hope for the best and hope it dosn't receed anymore because it really hasn't since 18 really.

it could be maturing, but to ME it doesn't look like it. maybe another person would be so kind and give you a second opinion.
all i can really say is that its definately thinning right now, where it will stop i dont know.

propecia probably would be the best choice to prevent more loss yes and of course its a hassle free regimen, presuming you dont get any sides. (like me)

do you work out like those big guys? i know taking test and other steriods can aggrevate hairloss and cause it to advance it faster then usuall.
how old was ya grandad when he balded, do you moms sister's have balding sons? or do you have a family which lacks many males? they can be the key in alot of cases to understand the speed and pattern of your problem.

and more importantly where it will stop!

Hmmm. I think I might give procepia a try then. Just by itself and would I need a prescription for it which I could justs attain from a regular doctor GP?

No I don't haha the one on the right is mariusz pudzianowski, 4 time worlds strongest man from Poland.

I'm unsure when he started balding but it's pretty bleak for all my male cousins. My mothers sister, one of her sons is bald, my other mothers other sister has 2 sons both of which are bald (although there father is also bald who is not blood relative to me) and on my fathers side all 3 of my male cousins have receeding/balding although they're father (my non blood) is also balding soo..

I'm unsure how fast they started balding but I'm wondering if I start this procepia it's a life long thing so I'm not sure on what to do :p especially starting this at such a young age.

maybe go seek some advice from a doctor or derm about propecia, as you are young yes. just be aware most docs know nothing about hairloss.
also propecia can be bought online very cheap (20 euro for 6 months) without prescription.

nothing is a lifetime commitment you can stop at any point, but your hair will continue to receed if it's destined too.
most regimens arn't big deals, i mean mine takes 30 secs of my day and its nothing compaired to the potential benefits.

remember you can try other things first, minoxidil may help you strengthen your hairline in a short ammount of time, usually results come faster then propecia.
also get some nizoral for now and you could also try topical spironolactone instead of finasteride.
basically just have a read round there other things you can do.

i've seen a doctor. she basically said my hair was fine. I have no bald spot at all on the back and she said it's probably just maturing (like my fathers hairline) and theres no way to tell if it's maturing or if it's male pattern baldness.

She told me to get these hair nail, skin formation tablets which apparently help strengthen hair. I talked about procepia with her and she mentioned the symptoms and said maybe if i was 20 and going completely bald I would uses it but since i have so much hair, It could jsuts be maturing, and then I could have possible side affects. I sort of agree with her.

I'm going to just ride it out and IMO it will stop, if it dosn't then i will look into getting procepia, but honestly I don't think the possible sides etc are worth starting this stuff at 20 when It's not 100% that i have it.

I'll pay attention to it though, thanks for your help !

Looks like balding to me

Theres no point going on propecia/finasteride when you have almost no hair left btw as its only going to stop hairloss. If you get to that stage u might as well not bother - just shave it.
