Hey everyone. I made a thread back in February. Posted some pictures of my hair. Got mixed opinions. Some said my hair is fine and shouldn’t worry, others said beginning stages of male pattern baldness. I know I am definitely thinning. And I have the balding gene for sure. So today I buzzed my head. My hair was relatively long. I hadn’t had a cut in like 4 months. When showering I had a noticeable amount of hair loss as well. So I got tired and fed up and shaved my head to monitor and asses my progress or regression. Was thinking about purchasing nutrafol. I did purchase a DHT blocker shampoo. (Regenepure DR) What steps should I take? I will post a picture of my recent buzz cut. You can definitely notice the thinning and male pattern baldness. How far advanced do you think it is? Thanks for the help. This is consuming me. Not sure what to do.

@bluecyclone, this is what it looks like when you have aggressive balding. This guy is going to be a NW6 in the near future if he doesn't take finasteride now.

Brian, you have to be aggressive with your treatments now. You are heading towards a NW6 in a diffuse pattern. If I were in your shoes, I would probably go straight to dutasteride but topically only.

I hear so many negative thinks about finasteride. Side affects, etc. is it worth it? Does it actually yield results?

It does. It's a miracle drug for some. Most who refuse to stary finasteride regret it down the road, because they heard alot of fear mongering scares about it. And when they finally gave in and tried it, it either was too late, or it yeilded results and with no/bearable side effects. Treatments should always be started early on, in your case, you are going to be a NW6 in a couple of years. Start treatments.

Shampoo is really an ancillary treatment, and in your case if done alone will be like pissing in the wind. You need a more significant way of reducing DHT. If you are worried about sides try Finasteride EOD or look for the topical version.
