After reading the Faq, it seems like I should be on minoxidil as well.. over the last couple months my hairloss has progressed from a NW3V.. to a 3.5.. I bet it's almost a 4 but I have a decent hairstyle that manages to cover it..

The front is really thinning.. and I started Proscar a month ago, and began noticing more loss about 2.5 weeks into it.. I was worried until I read about the fact that these would have fallen out anyhow, due to the fact that these hairs were already telogen.

I would post a picture.. for some reason, probably my lack of photogenitc quality, it looks like I have MUCH less hair in my pics.. than I do in real life.

I'm only taking the Proscar right now, apparrently it seems like I should be using the minoxidil as well.

The thought of a MAJOR shed is terrifying, and would definitely push me all the way to NW4 I think. I know I should have started a long time ago,
but I just couldn't seem to get the guts to do it when my loss started at 18yrs old. I kept hoping it would just kinda grow back.. then I shaved my head for a while... then I got tired of looking like a criminal and grew it back at NW2.5/3, at which point it didn't seem like I was losing it anymore, so I got a haircut and went with it.. then since August, I have been rapidly losing it. It seems like getting over the hurdle of DOING something about the loss, was more difficult than just suffering through it.

My girlfriend is really great, and I know she will love me despite my loss, but she has professed that she finds hair more attractive. I guess that is the real spur I needed to start up.

Here is my Question:

Do I need minoxidil to regrow hair? what strength should I use? where can I get it without a credit card?

Is Nizoral a good idea? Where do I get that?

edit--- Oh yeah.. positive side effect from Proscar.. Increased Penis Size. Definitely an incentive to stay on it..

Yes you need Minoxidil for regrowth. You can find it at any local grocery or phramacy. Same thing for Nizoral. You will find it anywhere. Walmart, walgreens, target, anywhere.

no you dont, Propecia alone works really well for regrowth by itself without minoxidil

The fact that you are regrowing on propecia alone wangho, does not constitute a rule. And post some pics already! :)

Hi. You should add minoxidil 5% if you want to boost your chances of regrowth. Its available in most high street pharmacys. Adding Nizoral would be a great idea to, again you can get it from most high street pharmacys. The combo of Finasteride, minoxidil and Nizoral is called "the big 3" and is the best chances youve got of maintaining and regrowing hair.
Good luck.

Wangho, you are correct in saying you can get good regrowth with Propecia alone, but you stand a much better chance of getting more regrowth if you use minoxidil aswell, because minoxidil and finasteride work in different ways so they actually compliment each other.
