Hi everyone, I am 22yr. college student who has been losing hair in my temples since I was 20. I currently have a david beckham hairline type with both temples gone. I recently sought out propecia because I used to spike my hair and on my 22nd B-day, 4 months ago, I started to shed a lot and after two weeks was no longer able to spike my hair and it feels weaker. Now I just dont style my hair at all. So I went to health services about 3 weeks ago and got a perscription to propecia (1mg) and paid $200 for a 3 month supply. I felt great and hopeful to try this little pill that could help with my hair. The first week I felt nothing, everything was fine, then on day 7 or so I noticed my semen had a different texture and thought nothing of it. On day 8, 9, 10 and REALLY noticed I have what I now can refer to (after browsing the forums) as "watery semen". For those of you who think side effects are in your head, trust me, in my 22 years of existence I've never had f*****g water semen in my life, it just dribbles out, and trust me I wanted this drug work for me just as much as everyone else. So I went online and read about the various experiences people have had with propecia and realized I was faced with a rather ironical choice: To keep taking propecia, gain hair, but suffer from sexual sides or to stop propecia, lose hair, and been sexually healthy. The whole point of propecia in the first place is vanity and be more attractice, which creates a catch 22 when it also messes with your junk. Hypothetically I could delay my hair loss 10 years and take propecia the whole time and be fine, but its going to come out anyway, also I would stop after 10 years and my hormones could be completely fucked. This drug hasn't been around long enough for there to be conclusive scientific results about long-term effects, period. For those who have taken the drug, gotten results, and had no side effects... thats great, but according to people's experiences sides can come up at any time. Messing with your body's hormones just doesn't seem healthy. In conclusion, I am going to say f*** vanity, keep using nizoral and thickening shampoo, and get on with my life. I'm constantly reminded of how everything is relevant to each individual. Before I started losing my hair I would watch a bruce willis movie, a kelly slater surf video, a jason stratham action flick, and the thought that they were bald never crossed my mind. Now when I watch those videos the fact that they are bald is all I can think about. Do you guys think women, who dont worry about going bald and have hair, could give to shits about a guys hair. Its like if you have a gigantic nose and are self conscious, you are going to be more perceptive of other people's noses. Its all perception.

Anyway, im done with propecia, for those of you still taking it best of luck, seriously, no man deserves to lose his man hood.

Also, I think everyone should check this out:

I personally would rather have my sexual function than hair. Fortunately I don't have to make that decision because I have absolutely no side effects after 4 months of use.

Same here man, I really hope it stays that way for you. I would just be afraid of sides coming up at any time and how long they would last.

Honestly, when I think about putting a drug in my body every day from now until im 50 (28 years) and to not know what my life would of been like naturally... its a mind f***.

there is every chance you wouldnt have to anyway,if propecia is the only answer to male pattern baldness then science has failed!

Whoa, sorry about the side effects dude. I don't wanna have to be using a regimen the rest of my life either, but the way i think about it, I take vitamins every morning, and I comb my hair everyday, so it's not gonna be too tough for me to add a small pill to my vitamins and put some foam in my hair either, so I can live with it. If I had any symptoms like you do, of course I would stop immediately, but I would still try to find something that would help stop the progression or at least help maintain it for as long as possible. Other than the watery semen, was there any other side effect?
