Hi I am a 23 year old who has been taking 1mg of finasteride daily since October for male pattern baldness. Throughout this time I have had times where my hair looked like it was getting better and times where it seemed worse. After 2 months my pharmacist changed the manufacturer of my finasteride to camber pharmacuticals. The price is still the same so I expect the quality to be the same as well. Since then my hair loss has continued to remain steady but I'm noticing my hairline getting thinner still. Which i guess is still normal but I expected to have at least a slow down in hair loss by now. I'm noticing small darkish hairs about 1cm long poking through my hairline. But I can't be sure if its regrowth. My question is could my hair be getting worse because of my new manufacturer. Or is it normal to not see any small results until 5 months or so? Any experiences of young guys like me on finasteride who got worse in the first 4 months and then got a lot better after that would be much appreciated.

I've read alot of success stories some people go through a big shed 3-6 months in and there hair bounces back better. I think it varies for everybody. The most common thing people will say is at least wait a year.

Thank you for your response. I've read a lot of success stories that involve hair getting better after 6 months as well. I would be completely fine with having the hair I did when i started treatment. I'm still at a point where my hair loss isn't noticeable but I'm afraid of it gradually declining through the rest of the year. Stabilization would be great. I'm still hoping my manufacturer switch doesn't create an issue of effectiveness.
