3 months into Propecia. Here's whats up.

Hey guys so I'm just over 3 months on propecia (1mg/day) and I'm starting to become very anxious due to shedding. When I run my hand through hair I get a ton of loose hair on my hand. It's even worse when showering. I only had hair loss on my vertex (top-back head) but since starting the propecia I have noticed shedding on the entire top of my head (back and front). Is this a normality with Propecia use? Also when can I expect the shedding to stop/slow? I've also been extremely stressed out over the last 3 months as I have been studying in Europe and being here on top of hairloss has given me a ton of anxiety and stress. Could this be the reason I am shedding so much? Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am 21 years old.

It's probably due to the Finasteride, and its very common when starting 5ARi's. Just stick with it, it could last a few months.

Thank you for the response Dench. Is it possible that I will regain any of the hair I'm shedding from the finasteride? Because I'm losing a **** ton and my hair is thinner than ever. Its now pretty noticeable.

Pull it through mate. Shedding sucks but eventually it will get better .

Not just possible - very probable. The theory goes that you shed thin, weak hairs when starting 5ARi's to make room for thicker, healthier hairs. Look at the numbers in the studies, its very likely you will be at or above baseline at the 1 year mark.
