5 weeks on Propecia. A few questions.

Hi all,

I passed the 5 week mark and this is what I've experienced; I had a really heavy ball ache for the first 4 days in the right testicle but after that nothing. No loss of libido, normally erections in fact I haven't had any issues.
i have however noticed a lot more hair falling out in the bathroom and left on the pillow, I understand this is seen as normal but the hair I am seeing is thick healthy looking hair, is this normal?
and if I were to stop propecia would this hair grow back or has it gone forever?

To be honest this increased hair loss is freaking me out a little. I'm going to ride through it but I am concerned at the type of hair falling out.

Thanks for for taking the time to read this post.

Do they have bulbs on the end of them? Little white bulbs?

Yes mate, on all that I saw..

K that is most definitely a shed then. Not to worry, they will grow back. The fact that they looked healthy is a good sign too! They should grow back even healthier and stronger over time. The white bulb is not the root, but rather a foundation of the hair. As your roots become free of dht the bulbs will grow stronger allowing your hair to grow longer and thicker.

Thanks for your quick replies and that is reassuring. Should I also take comfort in the fact the hairs that have fallen out are a lot shorter than my normal hair length? I mean that would seem logical by what you've said. Thanks again.

Someone with excellent results shedded for the first 5 months on propecia, he said he shedded both miniaturized and healthy looking terminal hairs. In the end he had very good regrowth

If I were to quit propecia today, for arguments sake, would the hair lost from the propecia shed grow back? I've read once you stop your hair resumes to where it would have been if you hadn't started, I'm not sure what is meant by that exactly.

Yes it would but it would grow back anyway if you stayed on propecia, and if you quit propecia when it grows back it wouldn't be as thick as if you stayed on it.

That's makes sense and it's kind of what I thought. Thanks.

Another question if you don't mind, I haven't experienced anything that I regard as sides, if I haven't in the first 5 to 6 weeks is it unlikely that I will?

Most people have their sides when they first start propecia
