7 days on finasteride, erection side effects - shall i stop?

Hi all,

After a lot, a lot of thinking I decided to start generic finasteride by Pfizer, 1/4 every day thats 1.25 a day. Today I'll take my 8th piece. I am 24.

Since starting finasteride I get less erections, takes longer to get stimulated, and I can't achieve those rock solid erections as I used to. I also have less appetite for sex, less and watery semen on ejaculation. Sex is not as enjoyable as it used to be. The worst part is that my poor gf has no idea that I started finasteride, or what that might mean. She is getting really disappointed that she can't please me or that I might not like her anymore!

What are your opinions on that? Shall I stop? Are those side effects going to ease at all? I have tons of generic finasteride pills left.

I think for one thing you should tell your gf about it so she knows what's going on. You don't have to tell her why you're on the drug, but she will probably ask anyway, so expect to tell her. I heard Zinc supplements help with the erections, but I could be mistaken. Some other supplements help as well, but I'm forgetting which ones (old age I guess). It's a lot better that she knows that your subconscious about your hair than her thinking she can't please you and that you're not into her anymore I think.

The side effects might ease up after being on the drug for a month or two, if not, you can always get off and everything will be rock solid again. I've gotten off Finasteride/Propecia after being on it for 4 years, same sides as what you describe, and I was so horny all the time that I actually was happy I was on that drug. I switched to Avodart now which is much more powerful, more powerful sides too.
