Well still going down hill..I tried phasing in some finasteride on my off days from dutasteride as i'm on dutasteride twice a week but as soon as I did the massive tiredness problem I get from taking finasteride came back almost immediately so I stopped. When I tried minoxidil again I lost loads too so gave that up.

So that's it. I will keep taking 2-3 tabs dutasteride per week even though hair continues to lose and just keep praying loss will stop. Its hereditary for me to lose hair in my family so think I was always fighting a losing battle. Did I make it worse by being on drugs...maybe maybe not .

Seems I can only tollerate dutasteride not finasteride...I get no sides on dutasteride although stopped the full does due to hair/skin dryness.

Hi Nick,
stay on a full dose (0,5 everyday) and see what happens...
I have the same your experience but since two weeks I tried the full dose but NOW nothing dry hair and skin... It's strange! Shedding is decreased with this dosage.
Probabily the dry go away with time but change always the dosage is not smart...
Have you ever tested your shed with a weekly wash test?
Bye

Sorry for my English

I have been on the full dose as well for 4 months, my hair got really dry and brittle. I can't say that I lost alot but it does break easy and it is really dry.

I wonder if this dryness is an allergic reaction or a normal phase that go away with the time...

It very well may be Andrea. Could be to a reaction to less sebum and maybe reverse after you adjust to it. Not sure, just an idea.

Propecia causes me to get really tired too, but I am staying on it.

if I remember rightly I didn't suffer the tiredness side so much on genuine Propecia so maybe I will try that. I tried finasteride again recently and was very tired even on 0.25mg.

I have got to keep trying, something must work, dutasteride has definitely accelerated loss and even though I lost on finasteride/propecia it was much slower loss.

My hirline is gone and temples back about 2 inches and centris now diffuse back 2 inches so will be a NW3 soon.

Why not try Topical spironolactone , Fluridil, Topical finasteride, Revivogen or Proxiphen to inhibit DHT? If finasteride didn't work for you before what makes you think it will work now?

I keep thinking surely either finasteride or dutasteride has got to work, can't both not work. I have given dutasteride about 8 months and all down hill...when on finasteride I went downhill slower although still down hill.

I'm really not keen on the topicals.

I'm tempted to give up altogether now and hope that maybe finasteride and dutasteride accelerated and if I just went back to eating healthy and training I might actually stabilize things.

I have upped my finasteride and got to bed earlier to overcome tiredness but my libido is off the scale more than ever before...I need loads of women and i'm not getting them :) :( so assume Testo is too high and that kills front hair which is whats happening. What can I take to reduce testo? Should I give up the finasteride and dutasteride...its like 14-15 months on sucession of both and no positive so have to think they don't work for me....

Now Dr Feller says that Avodart could cause hairloss.

My opinion is that Avodart may have the same effect of Accutane but in another way...

Well lets see...2 wks on finasteride, I have stopped dutasteride. Taking 0.5 or 1mg per day. Tired but this is the last shot.....

There are so many more dutasteride failure stories than finasteride that's why i'm back on it..I gave dutasteride enough time to work and it didn't for me, finasteride is the safer tested one too. If dutasteride had worked I would have kept on it even if some small health risk.

Will have to give up the fight in a few months unless there is a slowdown as the sides will not be worth enduring.

All this time effort and money to fail over last year and a half...depressing, feel like i've aged 5yrs in the last year.

when you die do you want to be remembered as a depressed, anxiety-ridden, self absorbed guy... or a guy who stayed strong through whatever was thrown his way? Which of these is more attractive?

Hi Nick,
I'm inyour same boat but since three weeks I take 1mg (two capsules togheter) x 2 week.
I don't know why but it works!
My hair is thicker and stronger. This dosage is prescribed by an Italian Doctor who have experimented different dosages in a private study...
Back on finasteride now is a no sense.
Blueshard you have a great result with dutasteride and I'm very surprising tht you are not happy...

Nick do you have some pics of your situation?
