Hi everyone,

Had my hair transplant with Asmed on 6th September 2017 and will try to post monthly updates as my hair changes over the next 12-18 months. Just to begin with I am 28 yo, been on finasteride for over 1.5 years, mimoxidil and RU/Neogenic for over 2 years.

Prior to the Asmed hair transplant I also had a very minor hair transplant surgery of about 750 grafts in September 2016 (performed at a different clinic), the results were alright, yet not good enough to cover the whole area. - This is irrelevant for this thread anyways.

So, the Asmed surgery was 3004 grafts to create the temple points and as well reinforce my forelock.

In terms of my personal experience, I cannot complain over anything as everything was taken care of by the clinic, airport/hotel pickups, accommodation, food/water and of course surgery.
I am not gonna go into many details over here as this has been discussed over so many times, but if anyone asks I am more than happy to reply.

Let the the growth begin !

You really went for 3000 grafts? Tbh I thought your hair looked fine before. Well goodluck and I hope you get the result you're after!

Thanks !

Yeah, could be overkill, but I really wanted to get it dense. :) We shall see the result.

This is not a good donor management if you use it like that. Imagine if your temples will recede even more and you won't have any remaining donor supply, you will remain with a thick frontal barrier and an island behind.

How many grafts did the doctor say you have left?

Who did the extractions, incisions, and placement of grafts?

How much of the hairline design is decided by you and which parts are decided by the Doctor?

Can you show your prior scarring from surgery?

What size punches did they use? Manual or motorized?

Did the doctor use his so called "implanter pen" and was the benefit of this explained?

How long did all the extractions take to be performed for 3000 grafts?

How has ru and neogenic worked for u?

What is ur source for ru?

Thanks

0. Grafts total about 8000 that I can get transplanted.

1. Extractions are done manually by techs + there is, do not how to call them, a head-tech ? being responsible for their work as well as the team.
Incisions were performed by Dr. Erdogan & placements were performed by another set of techs that specialize only in that part.

2. The doctor as well as about 5 nurses/techs drew lines about 5-6 times before they got satisfied. You have a chat with the Doctor about your expectations & his view/recommendations.

3. What scarring ? :)

4. Manual only

5. Implanter pen, the patient advisor wanted to explain that to me, but I was not interested. I read it on their website and that was enough for me :) + saw their before/after results.

6. Extractions took about 4 hours I do not remember as I was pretty sleepy. The whole surgery was about 9 hours.

7. RU + Neogenic - Cannot really say :/ I would say to same distance yes. But I am on many things, who knows what works best from that mix.

8. Source of RU - Anageninc (pretty much everyone gets it from there).

Hope I helped.

Thanks for the response. All surgery including fue leaves scarring. In sone cases you just need to look hard enough. Do you know the punch size that was used?

And wait they told u that there's 8000 grafts left? Plus 3000 u used and other 750 from previous surgery? Roughly 12000 grafts? Wtf that's seen as unheard of even for strip

You are certainly right, but I was willing to take that risk :).

Seems a bit unnecessary. They had to pull your hair so far back to highlight any issues and largely it's fine. On top of that, barely any hairline lowering for 3k grafts on essentially a full head. You'll get a great result though of course with some temple points!

I did not want to lower hairline too much just a few mm on each side to make it symmetric and thanks that you think that I am a full head :D.

I do not know :D probably will go all my hair to be placed on top + beard and pubes :D... Let's hope something comes out in the next 5 years :D

There was recession, but I used a lipogaine shampoo a day before pictures were taken and it makes my hair fuller quite a bit.

Just a quick update... shedding and healing continues. Did not have any postop pain or disstres that would require any painkillers. When I go tru my hair dead skin and tons of hair shafts come out. It has been more that 20 days since the surgery was performed. Pics aren't quality, still alright.
