G'day guys,

About 11 months ago I went to my doctor and got a prescription for Finasteride Tablet 5mg, though when I was going to go to the Chemist Warehouse (http://www.epharmacy.com.au) to buy proscar 5mg I chickened out thinking that they would turn down the prescription because of the name differences and start asking questions which made me to scared to end up going. But eventually as always someone mentioned something about my hair receding which drove me back to this forum and has made me want to do something about it. I was just hoping that someone that's been in my situation can just confirm that they will let you get your prescription and won't ask questions. My background is that I'm 20yo from Australia with probably a Norwood 1.5 heading towards NW2 with reasonably thick and I'm just interested in maintaining what I have before it gets to late, I've been using Nizoral 2% pretty much twice a week for 11 months and afterwards I would use conditioner because I find it leaves my hair dry, though I generally don't bother washing my hair any other time of the week because I'm lazy (is that bad?). From the October 2005 prescription price list from Chemist Warehouse its got Proscar 5mg 30 tablets for $85.95, is this a good price? In closing I'll probably just use proscar cut into 1/5s with Nizoral 2% twice a week just to see how I'll respond, as I said maintaining the hairline will be classified as a win for me.

Cheers, sorry about the long post.

That price from chemist warehouse is definately cheap (im pretty sure that price has now gone up). You could get it even cheaper online. You got it all covered, just cut your proscar into 4ths (5th will be a bit hard), and use nizoral and things should get better. You are lucky you caught it early.

IF your prescription says finasteride 5MG then that is Proscar, what are u worried about?
The worst that can happen is they turn you down, but i've used epharmacy heaps of times and they seem to love to help.

All their stuff comes discretely packaged etc..
good luck.

Today I got prescription of proscar 5MG and a pill cutter, I have no idea why I was so worried about getting it there was no troubles what so ever, I think I was just using it as a excuse to avoided starting it. The Proscar 5MG 30 tabs was $91(AUS) and the pill cutter was $10(AUS) from the chemist wharehouse if anyone was interested. I was going to get some Nizoral 2% but there was just a label saying ask the pharmacist, so I didn't bother because I still have abit left and wasn't sure if I'd have enough cash, last time I got Nizoral 2% you could just buy it straight from the shelf, does anyone know why you have to ask the pharmacist now? I can see now why everyone cuts the pills into 1/4's instead of 1/5's because it's impossible with a pill cutter unless you used a scalpel and were a dead-eye-dick. Cheers for the kind words, shall be starting as soon as I'm feeling better.
