A question about Vitamins for hair

I'm currently using 5% minoxidle and Nizoral shampoo for male pattern baldness after deciding not to use finasteride. I went to a hairdressers to get a trim (I have rather long hair) and she said my hair was in pretty desperate need of vitamins diet wise, not for regrowth but just to keep it healthy.

Don't get me wrong I'm not assuming to regrow any hair with vitamins but perhaps get it in better condition and possibly less thin. What do you guys think? There's a vitamin called Biotin which is supposed to help keep hair and nails healthy and amazon do it in 10000mcg (3333% of rda apparently!) which sounds a bit extreme to me but I have no idea.
Pperhaps it could help, I don't have much else to go on other than what I'm currently doing!

Thoughts?

Vitamins and minerals won't do anything for your hair except maybe make it grow a a bit faster (not regrowth, I just mean general hair growth rate, your Androgenetic Alopecia will still progress) if you aren't deficient in any of them.

The ~5-10% of people who have hair loss due to certain deficiencies will benefit from supplementation but for the remaining 90-95% with Androgenetic Alopecia, it will do nothing.

That being said, I like to supplement biotin simply for support of skin and nail health. It's pretty cheap so in the end it's your choice, just don't expect it to make your hair thick or anything equally outlandish like that.

Doesnt matter either way. There are tons of shampoos and hair loss vitamins sold on amazon among other places. Most of it is simply over priced over hyped stuff that honestly will make little or more likely zero difference long term. It plays off the normal fear people have of drugs which is not unfounded, but there just arent a lot of viable options for hair besides say propecia. Nothing else seems to really change androgen levels and that is the only way to stop male pattern baldness still
People like taking though an all natural vitamin for hair because like a placebo effect it helps people feel like they are doing something. Very hard to tell if it helps so people make up their own story and think its helping or whatever,.

Your hair needs protein to grow, so eat protein and iron will help it as well.

Biotin is can really help your hair grow better and thicker. I would not recommend 1000mcg biotin. It would be totally enough. In addition, you can take selenium and zinc supplementation. Some also swear on fish oil and other superfoods but that would be rather experimental.
