Temples success after 1 year on Big3

BEFORE:

AFTER 14 months (now):
April 2016.jpg

My regime is Big 3
I am lucky to be a good responder. I have come to NW3/4 from NW5/6 etreme case of diffuse thinning in 1 year. Temples have taken 14 months to come where they are and it is improving. I hope to end up a proper NW2 in another year's time.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. See the pictures in full resolution. The white bit is minoxidil residue.

How thick is the rest of the hair on your scalp nowadays? Experienced further thickening?

Congrats btw.

If the temples don't fill up the way you want it, you're going for the transplant?

I have thought myself to think about transplant after 2 years. I still have another 10 months for that and I will think and decide about it in March 2017.

Rest of the area has filled up nicely (you can get a good idea from the temple pics). Scalp still shows in light a bit and there is some baldness at the crown still. However, I think it will fill up with time. My main battle is the temples.

Could you upload a photo now that is similar to the before-picture? As in same distance, lighting etc. The progress is unquestionable, but would be nice to see the right comparison.

Great results so far but if you want to reach NW2 ish territory you will probably need a hair transplant.

As some will already know I have been extremely lucky to turn back the clock more than a decade on Big 3 in just 14 months. Here is my success story thread...the story still continues.

This forum has given me a lot and I would not be here if not for this forum. My biggest advise to everyone is patience, dedication and consistency.

Incredibly all my new hair are shiny and naturally black whereas I have about 50% gray on the sides and back, which are dyed in the Now picture (no colour on male pattern baldness areas).

Amazing progress and your short on the sides haircut was a good call. Congrats!

You could add needling once a week for the extra punch, I really don't know why it hasn't been "officially" added to the Big 3 already with all the evidence there is on its effectiveness. We need to start referring the big 3+needling as "The big 4". Just a thought.

Wow amazing! Very happy for you. Looks like a transplant. Hope it continues. Do you use anything else besides big 3 that you feel made an impact?

Impresive results.

BTW in the link he said:
"The only consistent thing is Big 3:
- Minoidil 5%, 67% ethanol, 28% water. Goes by the brand name Mintop. 1 ml X Twice daily.
- Finasteride generic 1.25mg daily. Fincar generic 5mg cut into 4.
- Ketaconzole 1%: Regenepure DR daily.

I have been v lucky to have no side effects through my entire treatment so far.

I believe my main results are from Big-3. I am just lucky to be a good responder and I am very very devoted and consistent.

Non-consistent things I started to take my fight to next level after about 4-6 months (this is about the time I first noticed any significant results):
a) 1:1 pumpkin seed oil and castor oil infused with dried nettle root and saw palmetto beans + a dash of rosemary. Massage 1-2 time weekly on weekends and leave overnight.
b) Dermarolling 0.5mm once every 3-4 days
c) Pumpkin and sunflower seeds orally, few tablespoons worth 3-4 days a week (I keep it next to my PC at work and nibble away while working)
d) 2 cups of green tea daily
e) Retin-A 0.025% cream on temples (only started recently to throw everything in my fight against the temples)
f) Tea Tree Oil (5-10 drops on filled bath). I see where the drops are on top of water and then splash and rub that over my head and sit in the bath for about 20 minutes, this makes it like dilute and random). I have now replaced tea tree oil with peppermint oil on alternate days only since last week)
g) Rejuveplex with AHK-Cu for last 4 months 4-5 days a week. Only on right temple as an experiment. No difference between the two sides as yet....I'll give it another 2-3 months to complete my 6 months experiment before throwing it in the bin.

Recently I have also started applying extra dose of minoxidil with a dropper on the temples and do it 3 times, while rest of the scalp gets a 1 ml spread over a large area just 2 times. It is my main weapon for my now fight against the temples."

I do dermaroll. Sometimes with 0.5mm twice a week and sometimes 0.75mm once a week.

That is really good progress. You only did medication, correct?

Congratulations. You jumped at least three Norwood levels. No hair transplant?

Yup no hair transplant so far

Use Estro Gel on your temples...Retin-A is crap
