This may be .. but I was curious - would one expect to see a cessation or slowing of the loss of hair first, and THEN some regrowth? Or would you begin to see regrowth within a 6 month period anyway, if it was going to happen at all?

Thanks guys

Expected Timeline
What should you expect upon taking that first pill? Below is an example of a *worst case* scenario. As stated above most men never experience any of these side effects. Here's the good and the bad, in a nice convenient timeline:
• Week 1-2: Possible increased sex drive, slightly oily skin, possible light zits, increased shedding (normal!)
• Week 3-5: 4% of men may experience a slight decrease in sex drive
• Week 6-?: Side effects dissipate, possible continued shedding until month 3 or 4
This is of course assuming you experience any in the first place. It is entirely dependant upon the person.
• Month 3 or 4: Good Responders - You may see a stoppage in shedding
Slow Responders - Give it 6 months to a year.
• Month 6 or 8: Good Responders - You may see additional regrowth.
Slow Responders - may take up to a year or may not see regrowth at all, just maintenance of hair count.
NOTE: Treatment takes time. It may be up to 12 months before you see a stoppage of balding, let alone regrowth, so stick with it. If after 1 year of treatment you do not see any such results, it is unlikely to be effective for you.

It seemed to slow down my loss almost immediately, then now as I enter my fourth month, I'm shedding. Hoping it's almot over and I'll get regrowth. And yeah, I think this sh*t really kills your libido. I think I'm going to try some horny goat weed soon.

L-Arginine is also good for boosting your sex drive

I've been on finasteride for almost 6 months now and I've got seriously reduced shedding (thought no regrowth yet.. )

I am a true believer that you sex drive concerns are in your head. I go from rampantly horny one week to mild the next then back and forth. Before i knew about these "sex drive issues" talked about on this website i had NO problems at all... i mean none and i took Proscar for 3 yeers prior to finding this site. Since hearing about these sex drive issues i end up analysing my libido much more and its too easy to blame Proscar/Propecia... and as a rusult id now say that i have more libido problems that before... ridiculous... seriously its in your mind. Forget about it and you'll be back to normal... this weekend prooved that for me... woo!
