About to start finasteride...

Hi, i've been lurking around for a while and finally gave in and decided to start getting some treatment for my hairloss. I've used other treatments like rogaine but not for more than a month. Last week I order finasteride and nizoral 2% from an online pharmacy and it just arrived today. the pills are too small to cut with a regular knife, so I guess i'll start taking 1mg right from the start even though I had planned on .5mg and eventually moving up. I'm 20 btw, hope I can get some results. Basically, what I was going to ask is: is there a lot of diference between taking .5mg and 1mg ? what are the advantages/disadvantages ? where should i start ? thanks for the help

Pill cutters are $3 at your local pharmacy. highly recomend them. only cut myself once on the ultra safety gripped blade. it was my own dumb fault

i highly suggest starting at the full 1mg and cutting back if there are sides, rather then starting at .5 and increasing if no sides

Yes, which pharmacy did you get them from? I get mercs propecia. They are brown pills and easy to cut. They are too powerful for me to take whole so i cut them up roughly in to 8ths (very difficult to do by the way) using a knife. If i can do that you should be able to cut them into halfs no problem.

Be wary of bogus websites friend. There is a lot of them going around latelly selling cheap finestride. I bought proscar online and they were small white pills which were difficult to cut into quarters and when i took them for six months the only thing that changed was the thickness in my semen (watery). My hair continued to receed as normal with no other side effects. It strikes me that i was sold tablets dabbed with a very weak dose of finestride. I know this to be true because proscar is more powerful that propecia and the propecia i am on is much stronger than the proscar i was on.

0.5 mg of propecia is about 80% as effective as 1mg of propecia by the way. This will reduce the side effects if any and will make your propecia last longer.

I used United Pharmacies, ordered finpecia and yes, the pills are pretty small, round and white. I've heard they're reliable so hopefully I didn't waste my money.

.2mg is pretty much the same as taking 1mg.

IMO If you are not suffering serious hairloss start @ .2
Since I caught my hairloss so damn early I stick to .25mg and its fine works out way cheaper and so far no sides

I don't know if i'd say i caught it early, since it's been such a slow process (first noticed it a few months before turning 17). I still have quite a bit of hair left but my crown is on its way to going bald if i don't do anything about it in the next couple of years and my hair has been thinning too, but it's not in terrible shape yet. I'll guess i'll stick with 1mg for now. thanks for the help. i'd also like to hear back from someone about the pills I bought, the small, round, white ones, finpecia. anybody using those ?

Plenty of people using Finpecia checkout the success forum lots of success from people using Generics, United Pharmacys can be trusted many people order from them.
Go with 1mg you are on the right track monitor your state for sides etc if things get too bumpy cut down to .5 see how you go
