Hello,

In 2022 I had an hair transplant done in Istanbul which was only partially successful, I believe I got 40-50 % of the promised 3500/4000 grafts. For the records, this is the clinic https://istanbulhaircenter.com/ I reckon I was just unlucky, I had no reasons to doubt them.
Anyways, I´m now going to have an add-on transplant and I spoke with another clinic in Istanbul. They specialize in face treatments but they have a transplant department too.
They agreed that I can do this transplant by shaving only the donor area, and they suggested about 3000 grafts, for 2800 €
Here are some images after a couple of months the transplant, and how I look now:

Do you think 3000 grafts is achievable and makes sense? and is this it´s a fair price ?
They said that they have staff people for the transplant, the main doctor will not operate... but what gives? Shouldn´t the person who is
going to make the transplant fully traceble, to check their history and skills? This part left me skeptic.

And another curiosity: how dooes someone know if they really implanted 3000 grafts?

thanks in advance!

Run away from this place. You don't even know who is going to do the procedure.

my uncle actually went through something similar. his first transplant didn’t turn out the way it was promised either, graft count was way lower than what he paid for. when he looked into doing a 2nd one, he realized the same thing you pointed out — sometimes the main Doctor isn’t even the one doing the work, it’s mostly the staff. that was a big red flag for him.

he ended up checking options through placidway and found a clinic that was a lot more transparent about who does what. they even showed patient cases and explained how they track graft counts. his 2nd round went much smoother and the results are better this time.

so yeah, 2800€ for 3000 grafts sounds normal for istanbul, but i’d definitely make sure you know exactly who’s operating and how they track grafts before you commit.
