Hi guys,
first time on the forums posting as I’ve noticed quite aggressive hairloss this year. I’ll post a pic of my hairline in summer 2018 and you can see a massive difference to present.
i have been on MTX (methotrexate 10mg weekly) for the past 7 yrs and initially it only caused very slow thinning on my right frontal/ temple and crown. But since I started full time work in 2018/ I lost a lot of weight last yr due to skipping meals and working hard etc. And my hairloss seemed to accelerate/ even more so this yr. I’m 38.
has ANYONE done a hair transplant whilst on immune- suppressant or at least stopped for a few months?
so I’ve been discussing with 4 clinics, Dr Cinik, Dr Ilker Apaydin and Dr Mark Tam.
Turkey is obviously cheapest option but Dr Tam’s work looks impressive but almost 3 times the cost of Turkey hair transplant.
Cinik clinic suggested 2.5k frontal/ crown.
dr Ilker 1.8k frontal only
Dr Tam 2k frontal only (he mentioned that he never recommends doing both front and top at same time because it won’t look 100% in terms of density)
costs is a huge issue but at same time I’m willing to pay to get the job done right (frontal) a lot of the pluggy/ multiple graft hairlines have scared me. Way I see it is, why pay half for something that you won’t be happy with. Then you’ll end up spending more to get it rectified plus the time too. Correct me if I’m wrong.
