Advice on regimen

Hello,

I am a 23 year old with thinning hair in the vortex, and a bit of hairline recession. It isn't to the point where people question that I am balding, and I still get compliments on my hair. Every time I style it though I notice I'm thinning as time goes on.

I have had Fincar for a few months but have been putting it off. I am 5"10 and 130 pounds so I am pretty lanky. Should I start my dose off as less than 1mg? I want to start on foam and liquid minoxidil (one morning one night) as well. Should I start one before the other? If so, will that minimize my shedding (or make it less catastrophic)?

No, 1mg is fine. Liquid minoxidil is better than foam. Both these treatments should maintain your hair at least for years

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a .50mg dose like 90-98% as effective as a 1mg dose? So technically he could use a lower dose to save money?

Money is not too much of an issue.

My main question I guess is if I started finasteride first, let me go through shedding, and then start minoxidil, would that minimize the amount of noticeable shedding I go through?

Ser 0.2 mg dose or 5 mg are almost same maximum %10-15 difference unless your hair loss arent so aggressive or late to fight i think the best way to deal with finasteride is taking ed for a while than eod or every 3th day so almost same effect and may less or weaker side effects . And i guess minoxidil alone would only delay or hide your hairloss for a while especially for aggressive hairloss (nw3 + )

My advice would be to get a hormone panel to seewhat your dht and e2 (estradiol) levels are before and should you try oral dht inhibitors, after. You don't want dht to be too low nor e2 to be too high, or you will feminize yourself and experience other neurological/physical side effects.

I dropped propecia for now until I get my own panels, but I added it to my minoxidil formula.
