One of the first big youtubers, his hair disappeared overnight, wounder if he was using Toppik and got tired of it.

Good to see another AVGN fan. I've noticed his thinning for quite some time, probably beginning in 2011 or so. By then I was badly balding, so it was really noticeable to me. He went from having a carpet of hair in 2010 to thinning in 2011, to badly balding by 2012. I actually envied James' hair when he first came on the scene back in 2006, since that was around the time I first started noticing my hair loss. Fast forward to now & he's sporting the most ridiculous comb overs. I don't get it... he can easily afford a transplant, or if he isn't a suitable candidate for surgery a high quality hairpiece. He would look ridiculous with a shaved head (as do 99% of guys), but the comb overs are getting out of control. As a side note, as messed up as this may sound, I strongly believe his videos became less funny as he got balder. Is it just me?

His videos did get less funny as he got balder, but as with most observations it's just a coincidence.

He ran out of material and his angry schtick got boring after the first 50 or so episodes. As with most slapstick comedy it wears thin after a while

Yea i think the nostalgia critic looks horrible with a shaved head, but hes at like a NW5 so theres not much he can really do. I wonder if he looked better with hair.

I also watched the Angry Video Game Nerd videos and saw the mentioned episode. Classic over-the-top humor as always! It’s wild how he ties hair loss into gaming rage. If it were a real in-game issue, maybe we’d all have to contact playstation support for a fix! AVGN never disappoints with his creative rants.
