Any CONCLUSIVE verdict on MinoxidilMax & MinoxidilSolutions?

Hi guys,

first off, thanks a lot of allowing your forums to be searched by google & non-members. It revealed a wealth of information to me. But I haven't been able to find a conclusive response to the questions posted in the thread title.

Like many people, I've been trying to find adequate replacement for Dr Lee's products. I've searched all around these forums, the forums at hairlosshelp, amazon reviews, and regular google searches, and the most viable alternatives seem to be MinoxidilMax (MM) & MinoxidilSolutions (MS). But even in 20 page threads, the opinions are mixed.

  • There is one respected member here at gourmetstylewellness.com -- "Cassin" -- who says that MM works for him, but besides him I couldn't find anyone credible that actively endorsed it, and a lot of people who said it was a load of crap.

    [/*:m:1qjvz1y5]
  • Are there any conclusive lab reports that confirm that MM / MS contain the ingredients they claim to contain?

    [/*:m:1qjvz1y5]
  • Are there any other members that have had results using MM or MS?

    [/*:m:1qjvz1y5]
  • Can anyone here recommend any other products as a real alternative to Dr Lees Products?[/*:m:1qjvz1y5][/list:eek::1qjvz1y5]

As for me, I've been using MinoxMax since May. I keep my hair very short, so it's hard to say if it's actually working or not. It seems like it isn't but for now I'm just keeping up the routine.

    Thanks

Just to be clear on wording so nobody misunderstands this, I don't endorse it in terms of being paid for it. I know you didn't mean that but someone might take that wrong.

I used MinoxidilMax 15% and 5% minoxidil without propylene glycol, both enhanced with azelaic acid, for quite a few months. They are the best minoxidil solutions I used so far.

I've used both minoxidil max and minoxidil solutions.

I really like minoxidil max it worked for me. I used the 5% and the dualgen 15% for four months and I saw some regrowth.

Currently I'm using minoxidil solutions for three months and it works perfectly fine. I dont lose as much hair as before and my hair seems to be getting much thicker and fuller.

Thanks for clarifying.

You say you used it for a few months. Why did you quit?

I've used DualGen-5 and DualGen-15 with no PPG and I am currently using DualGen-15 with ppg and the 5% fast dry minoxidil all from minoxidilmax. I don't really have any complaints so far. The customer service is excellent.

On the other side, I have heard many horror stories from people ordering from minoxidilsolutions. Personally, I ordered a jar of spironolactone cream from them and received it quickly with no problems.

As far as minoxidil goes, I'm going to stick with minoxidilmax.

That reminds me -- I ordered 2 bottles of Xandrox15+ from Minoxidilsolutions on 2 seperate occasions, and they both arrived quickly & easily. Another time I ordered, a few months later, they refunded me within minutes without an explanation.

The Xandrox I got from them gave me the same pulling pain in my left testicle that Dr Lee's Xandrox gave me, so I am inclined to believe that it contains SOMETHING that works.

I am taking Minoxidilmax quick dry.. Getting results from it.. Dry really fast.. just turn you hair white if your scalp is still wet from the shower.. which is gay!!!!! Fast shipping and good communication.. They are really good so far.. I want to jump on the minoxidil 15%.. but can't find any brand without azelaic acid in it..

Since the Fall of Lee, I've been experimenting with three different manufacturers (MinoxMax, minoxidil Sols, and Perfect Image), and have settled on a split regimen that I've been using for the past four or five months. minoxidil Max Dualgen 15 in the evening, and minoxidil Solutions minoxidil 5 plus Retinoic Acid in the mornings.

I've noticed no undesirable effects, nor any sudden loss of hair, since making the switch since Dr Lee. Both seem to be working, either alone or in tandem.

Aw Jez.

I switched to the minoxidilsolutions Xandrox 15 plus formula about 2 months ago as I found minoxidilmax 15 to be to sticky for my liking. Was beginning to wonder if the product is effective. Was going to monitor it until the end of the 4th month before deciding definitively about a verdict but it seems the decision has been taken out of my hands. I'll be monitoring this with even more interest now given recent developments.

Probably have to dip into the seemingly increasingly shady minoxidil 15% market again in the near future. Thinking perfect image solution?!??

SMart, I appreciate that you found Dualgen 15 too sticky. Do you think it was effective in the sense that it maintained your previous regime. Did this previous regime - like so many of us - include the Richard Lee Xandrox? How many months were you on it before switching to the 'new' Xandrox 15 plus - now unavailable.

Well was on Xandrox15 plus from Dr Lee for maybe 1 and 1/2 years. Was definitely the best product I had for maintaining if no regrowth. With Minoxidilmax I felt I was loosing a bit of ground in the end and only really gave it 4 months or so.

Been 'back' on the new Xandrox15plus from the Minoxidil Solutions site coming on 3 months now. Have been noticing an increased shed over the last week or so; this added to the site's disappearance has got me pretty concerned.

Going back to Minoxidilmax is an option as is perfect image or maybe spectral dnc ... ?!!? I'm going to monitor the progress of my shed over the next week and then make a decision as I still have a full bottle of 'new' Xandrox 15 plus left.

SMart. Very helpful reply. Thank you. I was able to go straight from Dr Lee to minoxidil.solutions Xandrox 15 plus and Xandrox 5 (no PG) - at the end of July. The early batch of 15 plus seemed okay - but the later ones were very different - in smell, etc. ('paint thinner' - which I have not used). However, in the last weeks I have noticed the Xandrox 5 blocks the sprayer. The solution has turned cloudy - ? full of fine precipitate? My old 'sample' of Dr Lee's Xandrox 5 (no PG) is still beautifully clear.

Doesn't do a lot for confidence in minoxidil.solutions.

Am I am right in thinking that all hair gained/maintained by Xandrox would be lost in 4-6 months if you stopped and didn't replace it with anything?

So is it likely that people who complain of 'sheds' after 4-6 months on switching minoxidil's are probably losing the hair they gained/maintained, on the earlier minoxidil.

Whereas those who report 'sheds' in the early weeks - may, indeed, be reporting 'sheds' that may presage future growth?

I have yet to to see an 'authority' answer this question - a question I would have loved to have put to Dr Lee!

What do you think. And do please keep us posted of what you decide to do. There are many of us in your position.

xandrox user,

bro use minoxidil max, many people on here use it and I have been using it for the past 6 months.

I definitely see an improvement in my hair.

I used the old Dr. Lee xandrox and it was good and minoxidil max is a viable replacement.

i use 15% dualgen with no ppg

Rocky, many thanks. I see from another thread that you started Dualgen 15 in July. Was it continuous use since then? I noticed on another of your threads you were using the minoxodil.solutions Xandrox plus - but it soon started to burn your scalp.

This 'burning scalp' isue with the 'paint thinner' smelling later batches of minoxidil.solutions concerns me.

However, on another thread on another forum, here's what a poster said:

The nail polish, paint thinner, pink solution issue was true for Xandrox15 also. Not just the Xandrox15 Plus. I continued to use it (Xandrox15) with no ill effects (3 bottles worth), although I can't confirm that its absorption was as good as the earlier version and Dr. Lee's version. Personally, I believe it was not. But those of you who are worried about it burning your skin, etc., don't worry. It won't happen. It smells different, goes on different, and dries different, but won't harm your scalp or hair (from my experience with 3 bottles). If you get any negative results from using it, it's going to be solely from less absorption (possibly).

So if I do go for the Dualgen 15, I have another dilemms now. Do I ditch my 'paint thinner' Xandrox 15 and Xandrox?

Any other experienced posters and users who maintained/grew after switching to Dualgen 15 (no PG) from Dr Lee's Xandrox 15 or 15plus?
