i know this has probably been asked quite a few times, but I was wondering if there were any long term finasteride users around. I’ve just started finasteride, but couldn’t help myself looking at the stories online of men’s genitals shrinking on the drug etc..

Does this kind of stuff actually happen or is it a load of bs?

Oh and I also read online that finasteride can cause cancer, which obviously scared me.

Thanks.

Been on it for 3.5 years and it was worked very well for me. I think different studies have show anywhere from 2-6% of people to report some side effects. However, not all of these side effects are terrible. It does not cause cancer.

This stuff is not a long term solution to male pattern baldness because long term it probably has some kind of side effects we dont know of yet. Have weird things happened from taking finasteride? Probably, but its super super rare if it does like less than 1 percent.
Breezula or something like this is a long term safer solution. finasteride is buying time keeping hair alive so we can change over to something safer someday.
It does not cause cancer (that we know of) it just masks cancer making it tougher to tell. Its a drug there is no way to say its 100 percent safe. Its generally safe from what we know so far, but that changes with time.

~10 year user and no it’s all nonsense. There is some truth to finasteride having an impact on neurosteroidgenesis potentially, but I don’t think it’s to any extent that would prevent me from using it. It’s kept my hair for the past 10 years, although I may have lost a bit of thickness from when I started at 18. I’ve considered adding RU as well, but for now I’m just sticking with finasteride
