Anyone dump lots of minoxidil 5% all over their head?

I'm tempted to. I think it would be a messy daily regimen with possible side effects, so that is why I don't. But I bet it would thicken up a lot of thin areas, including thin sides. The generic stuff is getting cheap. Less than $4 per bottle.

Some people shed. I don't. I dumped it on my head years ago. Good results, too much mess.

be careful, there may be side effect like headache or dizziness if you use too much.

I also don't have problems with shedding.

How much of minoxidil did you dump?

I normally put over all my head around 3/4 caps.

Because what they say, 1 cap isn't enough to cover all the head.

I would like to dunk my scalp into a bucket of 5% minoxidil daily for a few months, I would expect to grow ridiculous amounts of hair but the side-effects stop me from doing so.

idk if this qualifies as a lot but i used 6ml(3ml twice a day). Did this for 3 months and now using 4ml a day. Having great results with 5% liquid.

have you been using minoxidil 1ml twice a day with any results, before using 3ml twice a day?

I used 1mL twice a day for maybe a month, got tired of waiting, and then jumped to 8mL per day. Within like no more than a months of switching, I had 2/3 inch long vellus hairs 1/2 inch below my hairline on my right side, growing out of smooth bald scalp that was bald at least 6 years. Then I stopped for hair transplant, lost those vellus hairs, and never went back to minoxidil.

Fact is, in 2 months of 8mL per day, my left side did not get those great results. Maybe it would have eventually. If spironolactone were stable in minoxidil, or EGCG were and had proven effects, I'd put it on as a topical with the minoxidil. But if it is just minoxidil, and no androgen receptor blocking, then I don't see a point in all the mess. And spironolactone is expensive. I can grind up pills, but the chalk in them is orange.

It would cost me $20 a month now to do that much minoxidil. No, maybe $16 per month. Depends on shipping. Maybe if I add some azelaic acid flakes and egcg and drops of lavender it would be worth it. At least for my front left side by my ear, since that area is pretty thin.

I used 2ml twice a day for some time and I started noticing contamination. I went back to 1mlx2 and then to 1ml a day.

I didn't get any noticeable regrowth, so I figured out I can help maintain with 1ml a day.

And with the foam how can i calculate that?

I mean they recommend 1 cap for the vertex.

But to cover all my hair i need 4/5 caps.

Anyone applying rogaine foam like this? It's the right way?

I had no sides, maybe a little itchy scalp but switching to using nizoral every other day cured this. I put minoxidil all over my scalp, and have seen hundreds of new hairs on my hair line. I don't have any pics but id say ive gone from a nw3 to a nw2.

Also, I started off at 6ml a day.

What do you mean by contamination?

I'm a newbie but like i said i can't go with the 1 cap foam or 1ml in the liquid, it's impossible to cover all head with that... How do you do?

I started getting baby hairs on my forehead and around my eyebrows. I used to do my morning application after showers. The chances of a leak on a wet scalp are much higher. I think it was the wet scalp that made minoxidil leak to my forehead. It is also possible that I had the contamination from the pillow or something. It could be the combination of both :dunno: .

You have to bear in mind that minoxidil is a very powerful medicine, it grows hair everywhere but not in the places you want it to grow :woot:

Don't let me scare you, if you want to use it, use it. The baby hairs I'm talking about haven't got worse. There are many people that use 2ml. There is post by Bryan I think, he claims that 1ml is enough and we don't need to soak our heads with it.

Just follow the instructions and wash your hands properly. Don't let it get to your face, or forehead.

Thanks for the answer.

I normally use 2/3ml because i can't cover all my head with 1ml liquid, is normal?

And you should try foam so it gets absorbed faster and you don't get hair where you don't want them!
